Going to a very rough hetero bar and men
Walking up to me saying things like
#### your the tallest woman I ever saw!!!
You are the most beutifull Indian woman I ever seen.

The icing of the cake. I was accepted to live in a woman's
Only residence. No men allowed.  Door security and staff
Running around. I even have a roomate hehe.

the absolute best win i have heard so far

You are at a transgender support meeting and one of the SOs asks your friend if you are her (she is trans as well) wife who is staying with her during the process. I have to say, being seen as cis in an environment that is almost all trans people is great!

Yes Brooke, from what I've seen of you that is easily understandable!

Interesting topic I like the responses so far. Recently I was out with my brother for dinner and drinks, he drank I could not. People thought I was his female partner which was interesting and a unique moment to laugh about for the both of us.

On the more pedestrian side of things when I am out with my kids 8 and 10 be it anywhere I am always referred to as Mom by the other people which always makes me feel good if not a little awkward as I do not replace CIS mom in anyway.

I did have one event that was real funny in that I was out for dinner with a girl friend at an indian place that was really packed.  At no time did I feel I was read by the others or staff especially our waiter who was pretty cool by the way. When it came time to pay all I had was my Guy CC and I handed it to him as I thought he figured it out earlier and the gig was up. He turned white as a sheet , started sputtering and kind of froze for like 20 s. He then asked me to pronounce my name which I just started to do then it clicked. He was so out of sorts that he left the silver pay tray behind after the bill was paid. It was hilarious. The next day I ordered a CC for Erica to help in the future  and it has been great.

I still get read and there are times of enlightenment that are great to have.

I managed to be stealth at a homeless shelter. I was walking with some girls to the store and they started talking about cute men and when I just said nothing they were like 'oh come on, you men do it about us girls all the time!'

Passing is a magical, mind-calming thing, even when I'm indirectly being called a pig ;)

My chemistry & RE teacher was also a part time minister, when I met him at after  the service I told him I was one of his old pupils. He asked what my maiden name was.
"Brown"
" I remember Kate & Maureen,which one were you?"
"Jimmy"
Outed myself good and proper! He was OK about it and understood why I was such a brat at school

... when a female coworker comes to you desk and whispers "Do you have a tampon or pad you could spare?"

I learned early on to keep something in my desk and my bathroom at home for just such emergencies - easier than explaining why you don't LOL!

I was at an LGBT group and someone referred to Stonewall as an LGBT support organisation.  Stonewall in England take LGBT funding but they are a pressure group for gay men, so I said they don't do anything for trans-people.  Later we were talking about being brave and I said trans-people who don't pass have to be brave every time they go outside.  I'm sure I said "we" a couple of times.  The social worker sitting next to me still didn't realise.

At the seniors singing group this morning I told the guy I sit next to that I had sent off my application for a Gender Recognition Certificate.  That was when I realised he didn't know I was trans.  I've been sitting next to him and singing Bass for months.

When you are on a date with a woman, and she is shocked to find out you are trans. She didn't care, but she was still shocked.

Went to donate blood at the local blood clinic. They still have my old info (marker), which can't be changed until I have the surgery (or I was told) in the donation form.

Went in to the private room with the intake nurse for interview. She asked me what kind of medication that I took, showed her the list. She then asked me why I took those hormone replacement meds, is it because I was having my menopause?  :o :o
Can't stop grinning while telling her the reason why I took those meds :P

In the end, they don't allow me to donate because they have no idea on how to process trans people which is kind of sucked. But that little thing just made my day.

ps. I am full time, so that was such a reassuring experience :)

Cassie 4 Ever!!!

Last Friday, I went out with some friends for my friends birthday, and all the bouncers look at my ID, and tell me that isn't me, or I have someone else's ID because I still have my male ID. I have to firmly tell them that IT IS ME and that i have CHANGED A LOT! LOL. I easily navigate in the ladies room no problem, and I get all my cover paid for by some guy who i don't know who is friends with the birthday girl, and I get free drinks by some guys who come up to me and start talking to me, and one of them i sit down with as he isn't a dancer type and talk to him for like 2 hours. He had no idea, nor did his friends who came over, he even tried to kiss me, and get me to go home with him. The next day he texted me to see how I was doing and if I wanted to meet up again. I ended it there over the phone and told him I was trans as I have never told a stranger that who was interested in me and wanted to know what someone really thought. His message was that he is strictly into heterosexual relationships and he said it wasn't a knock against me because i was very beautiful, and then said that this wouldn't work. We haven't talked since.

I went on donating after I went on hormones.  They had to consult a senior doctor and the verdict was it's like a woman on HRT - it doesn't matter.

There was a brief moment of confusion deciding which test-tube to use for the anemia test.  It seems men have more haemoglobin because of the testosterone, so I'm a woman, so they changed the gender marker and said I didn't need to mention it again.

Then I started taking Finasteride, and that's a big no-no.

Walking with my friend and she was ahead of me. A guy randomly runs forward and opens the door for her, then gives me a light smack in the back. "Open the door for the lady, what's wrong with you?!" And I could only laugh.
