That was a great pass, you should have given the teacher a www.full body smack-down just to celebrate!  :D ;D

Haha, yeah. I got a little nervous because I introduced myself to one girl and she thought my name was Karen. :| But everyone else didn't seem to think of me as female in any way, even the guys that ended up copping a feel (not on purpose lol) during exercises. She was foreign so she may have thought I was male all along and just not heard the name properly.

Hahaha you've been groped by dopes that didn't get it, it can't get any better than that under the circumstances.

Either that or the guys were just being polite and didn't say anything. They had to feel my extremely hairy legs for the wound wrapping work though...

I was taking a course and the teacher put me with the guys (we had to be sex segregated). Later on she makes an off handed comment about people "pretending to be the opposite sex" and how "everyone can always tell what they really are." Lol well evidently not.

Oh, this would have driven me crazy - That irresistible urge to out myself and educate the teacher.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

This one is fun

I was kissing with my girlfriend in a dark park
a bunch of dudes were passing by and a guy was shouting
"I thought Ive seen everything, I though Ive seen everything!" looking back at us
(fyi it was really awesome  cause there were two benches and in the one across there was another lesbian couple :D Id talk to them but I didnt  want  to because of my voice..."

later we were  standing outside a taxi and a girl said to  us
"are you gonna enter girls?"

even later we were  buying candies and the lady there reffered  to me as  "her"

I guess tonight  was a successful night

Quote from: Carrie Liz on May 30, 2014, 01:58:52 PMYou know you pass when you're going to get your name and gender marker updated ....

When I transitioned (1974) I never bothered with a court-ordered name change - didn't need it - and it wasn't until 20 years later that I needed the name change for a new passport so I filled out the papers and went to the court office. The clerk took the form and said something about having it published (- up here change of name is published in the court's official paper.) I said "I would really rather not." At that point, she finally read the application and her eyes went wide! She kept looking at me, at the application, then at me again! Finally she led me to a quiet corner, away from anyone elses ear shot, pointed at the previous name on the form, and said "Is that YOU? Can't be!" I had no way to prove that it was my former name but finally she took my word for it. (The name change was done in judges chamber and the records sealed - no publication.)

You know you pass when you're going to get your name and gender marker updated with the Social Security administration, and when you present the clerk with your therapist's letter to change your gender on file, as well as the court order for your name change, he smiles and says "I never would have known." (plus uses correct name and pronouns the whole time, and speaks to you in that endearing "talking to a pretty girl" tone that guys use, despite knowing that you're trans and even knowing your old name.)

That made me feel pretty darn good! :)
I just had my gender marker changed at the Florida DMV on my Driver's License this past Wednesday. My name, luckily for me is gender neutral and was given to me at birth by my deceased biological Mom so I intend to keep my name in honor of her. I am however going to switch my middle name, Allyda, around with my first name, Phoenix, so that Allyda is my first name and Phoenix my second since I go by my middle name and my friends call me Ally for short. I and my friends agree Allyda with Ally for short sounds more feminine than Phoenix with Phoe for short does.

Thanks Auntie Shan. Sad part is I'll probably need a Judge to do even that. I'll have to call and see. This week I gotta get back to finding an ENT specialist. So more phone tag. Tampa has an LGBT support group though, and I plan to contact them first and see if they can point me in the right direction.

There was a part of me that considered calling her out on it, but a part of me wondered if she assumed I was trans and was saying it as an underhanded b* comment lol. Today she said things that made me think she hadn't assumed I was trans, so I suppose if I wanted to I could have. But it was also in such passing that it would have been extra awkward (like more so than usual haha).

You know you pass when...

You're going in to get your name changed on your bank account, and when you tell the banker you're there to change it, he says "okay, well I'll need a copy of your marriage certificate." :)

(and even after I gave him the paper with the court order for my name change, very clearly showing that I was changing my name from a male name to a female name, it still didn't occur to him that I'm trans, and he actually asked me "so if you don't mind me asking, why are you changing your name?" and after basically just saying outright "I'm transgender," he gives me a shocked look and says "wow, I never would have known.")

Considering that I'm 6'2" tall, have a large build, and very seriously thought that I was just kidding myself to think that I'd ever pass for the entire first 11 months of transition, I am pretty damned floored right now.

As of today I will no longer worry about passing. Not after the following conversation:
Her: Any other medications?
Me: Estrogen.
Her: What? Aren't you too young for menopause?
Me: I, uhm, it's, I was born with the wrong bits, so I'm not producing estrogen.
*silence*
Her: Like a sex change kinda thing?
Me: Yeah.
*confused look*
Her: You wish to be male?
Me: Uhm. No, I was born male.
*long silence*
Her: But your voice! You're a woman now!
Me: Thanks *awkward smile*

Total pass! Especially when it comes from a cis female because they usually pick up on anything that might be a little bit off.

When a total stranger, whom You just met in the stairwell, looks at Your for a couple of secs and suddenly offers to carry Your bike upstairs...

Every month or two, my wife and I attend a womens' group where we descend upon LA's tackiest, kitchiest and oldest dive bars.  I was a bit late to the party, but I just found out that two of the women were blown away when they were recently told I was trans.  I guess when you do the math after we have been married for 20 years and same-sex marriage in California is just a recent thing, you have to ask WTF...

I mean, seriously, you didn't know already and had just assumed we were run-of-the-mill lesbians this whole time?

Haha good one Jill! I get that with my spouse too. I must come across as the assertive dyke, but oh well!

Apples Mk.II

Basically, when people ask if there are two persons living at the place or if I am "his boyfriend". And again when despite being in old guy clothes at home, they ask me where is "he".

My dad's (male) friend came over for dinner and we were watching some show with, you know, overly-feminized stereotyped women and he said:
"we'll never understand women will we?" and then later said to me "you're the man". I feel giddy just thinking about it.

Three days ago I went out to a bar for the first time as a woman... So far I was only walking out with friends, going to shops or visiting someone's place, but never at cafes or bars...
Well, I was dressed... let's say "brave" :D - Short jeans skirt, black thights, black and white grunge-styled tank top... not much makeup - just black eyeliner and few shades, lip gloss...
I was seeing friends of mine, but there were few people in the company, I didn't know, so I introduced my self to them. We talked a lot and all the time, noone was looking strange, they were using female pronouns and behaved perfectly normal. Even one of the guys showed a little bit more than ordinary interests to me  ::)
Then I went to another bar to see another friend and we sat there for hours... the bar gradually filled up with people, but noone stared at me in "that way" - the clocking one. I was obviously seen as a woman - not a single strange look... but several passionate ones... and guys leading conversations as well ::) Aparently, that's what it is to be a tall, slim blonde in a short skirt, in a bar - you just draw attention :D

I suppose this story means I pass ;)
