Several legislative measures left out of sessionA plan to repeal Georgia's ban on payday lenders was the first to go today, when the House failed to pass the bill. A proposed hate crimes law, plans for Confederate History Month and Governor Perdue's effort to clarify that church groups may receive state money failed to make the Senate calendar. House Speaker Glenn Richardson promised less legislation at the beginning of this session.
"We will however continue to move slowly and cautiously when adopting new laws that affect our citizen's in this state. When it comes down to adopting more laws and more legislation, less is more," said Richardson.
