my ring fingers are 2mm shorter than the index finger...and as someone else mentioned, no "adams apple" either

not only that but as an adult I have always had small boobs and very long nipples, very odd for a skinny person born with boy parts ;)

Not really. Ever see a lot of gay men?

Feminine gay men must be hidden transgender women then. I mean they already act like women.

My index finger is about 1/3 of an inch longer than my ring finger on both hands. No visible adams apple either according to the opinions in the pics I posed when the lady at my office said I had one.

Sandra Bullock has an Addams apple. Having one doesn't make one more female than anyone else.

this has nothing to do with being trans. It does have to do with your testosterone levels, if you are male and your hormones are not out of wack, your ring will be longer than your index finger. women who have this issue ( which is rare ) are always recommended to go see a doctor cause it is ussually a sign that the female is getting more T than normal causing the ring finger to be longer. I always had female hands ( which is a sign that i might be intersexed ), when ever a girl looked at my hands ( when i was still a boy) they would freak out cause of the finger thing, i didnt mind tho. :)

I was talking to my mom and one of my gal friends about it, they both had their ring fingers longer.

Both my mom's and my sister's fingers are like mine: index fingers are longer.  I wonder if it could be a hereditary thing?

I just came across this article;

http://healthland.time.com/2011/07/06/penis-size-it-may-be-written-in-the-length-of-his-fingers/

It seems penis length is possibly related to this finger thing also. They say shorter index finger, longer penis.

I think a lot of the "magic" ratios and "gender" markers are just a convenient excuse for our differences.  Some trans people feel more comfortable if they can "prove" they are physically different.  If you feel more socially acceptable because your finger ratio is just so or any other body parts then good for you.  As long as it isn't used as a test (trannier-than-thou) then who cares.

My index fingers are marginally longer and my second toe is smaller than my big toe (another "marker" people use), but I could likely find a dozen "tests" that would show maleness instead.  However my CIS-female wife's second toe is bigger than her big toe which is "supposed" to be a marker for maleness.

It is all so variable and there are so many interacting factors that it is never going to be that simple.  As some people said hereditary plays a huge role in some of this, but then sometimes some of our characteristics don't fit that mold properly.  For example even though I am 5'11", I was always considered short by my family.  Standing next to my 5'4" wife, our hips are at the same height so my legs are short, but then I have a long torso so even parts of my body fit the hereditary profile of that family while others don't.

That's actually a pretty interesting article.  Thanks for posting it.  :)

Interesting... my penis is small and so is my index finger.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

it's a very crude measure of how much testosterone you were exposed to in-vivo

Note this is a factor that increases the chance of you begin transsexual yet it doesn't determine it. And as such it doesn't invalidate anyone here even if you lack the trait.

so don't start spewing crap and saying "WELL I DONT HAVE THAT THUS URRRR WWWRRROONNGG."

My index fingers are a bit longer than ring fingers, on both hands. Though I really don't believe in such things as a scientific method.

Now, in all honesty, does it really matter? We are all different.

My two cents worth.

I remember reading it was actually proven and researched that pre-natal androgen ratios affect the digit lengths.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digit_ratio look at the references at the bottom of the page

I don't think it matters really.  The original post was just out of plain curiousity of the matter.  It caused a bit of a fuss though, I think.

Bull I think is the correct way of interpreting the data

This.  It's definiely not a valid scientific theory.

Also just out of curiousity, I measured the lengths of my ring and index fingers.

Right hand
Index: 6.9cm
ring: 6.5cm

left hand
index: 7.1cm
ring: 6.4cm

I just learned something useless about myself  ;D

Not useless. If you ever need to measure something to exactly 7.1cm, then you'll know that you only need to apply your left hand index finger to it. ;D
