Transgender Regretters Seeking $1 Million to $5 Million in Malpractice Compensation

http://waltheyer.typepad.com/blog/2012/05/transgender-regretters-seeking-1-million-to-5-million-in-malpractice-compensation.html

Transgenders who were misdiagnosed and unnecessarily underwent the radical genital surgery should be in line for huge financial compensation.

The compensation would come as a result of medical malpractice lawsuits filed against the doctors and surgeons who wrongly approved any gender change procedures. Any medical or psychological practice would be liable for malpractice if they assisted in providing any hormone therapy in conjunction with radical surgical procedures that result in gender change regret and/or could not provide clinical proof a gender change took place as a result of surgery.

The gender surgery has resulted in a staggering number of suicide attempt rates, long term depression, long term disability and some returning to their birth genders,now minus the gender equipment they were born with.

editorial note, the person leading this effort is ex-trans poster child Walt Heyer.

Nameless here for evermore!;  Merely this, and nothing more;
Tis the wind and nothing more!;  Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore!!"

The 41% he quotes come from a survey of transgender people, not post surgical trans sexuals.  What a way to try and make numbers  mean what they don't.

I find the site offensive and completely suspect. [pause for a bit of digging] It appears God healed Walt. That's all I need to know. That's even more hilarious.

Urgh, I can only see lies and money grubbing in this, It's no one's fault for approving something you asked for... Just such an alien and corrupt way of thinking. Is it wrong to have regrets? Nope, Sometimes we all make mistakes, Is it wrong to blame others for your problems and try to extort them? You betcha...

What is so funny, to me, is that if the person was wrongly diagnosed, it was based on information that they had themselves given.

Okay, well....

*laughs some more*

All right, this guy is a grade A moron.  There are enough safeguards in place that the only person there is to blame is yourself. I can't stand these idiots that go through all of the proper channels (or are dumb enough to sidestep them) and then when it is all said and done they blame the surgeons and/or therapists.

People like this are fools, plain and simple. YOU went through the process. YOU had the surgery done. If YOU are so stupid that you regret this afterwards that is your own fault. Don't make the rest of the community suffer because you are too spineless, pathetic and moronic to stand by your own actions.

What you point out is the whole purpose behind the Standards of Care.

Yes, I have heard this guy's rants before.  He's a shill for conservative religious types who are trying to make the case that being TS is all a sham, that transgender treatment is a phony construct with a medical veneer and that religious faith will deliver these poor lost souls from their spiritual despair.

And he always uses the same 3 or 4 examples of regretters, but conveniently ignores the 99% + people in transition or who have transitioned whose only regret is that they didn't begin their transitions earlier in life.
