Life, changes and a question

Ayden

Life is sneaking up on me. I woke up this morning and realized that I defend my thesis in 5 days, graduate in 15 and have to be out of my apartment in 22. I'm leaving the country in 22 or 23 days to start life in another country, I need to get in to see my doctor about getting a refill to get me through until December in case I have a hard time finding a doctor in Osaka, or have a hard time figuring out how to communicate what I need since my Japanese is function only at the moment. I have to figure out how in the world I am getting my snake over there, and who he is staying with until I can be at the apartment to sign for his delivery. I have to get rid of everything I own in 21 days, figure out what, if anything I will tell my dad when he gets here in 13 days and I need to somehow remove coffee from my diet without turning into a complete Resident Evil 1 style zombie.

Holy Things Batman.

As far as T, I am just over 6 weeks in and I have finally started seeing some changes. The hair on my arms and thighs is starting to darken up nicely. I finally have some dark stomach hair, and by hair, I mean there are five of them, and I was tempted to through them a birthday party. My voice has reached the weird rough, cracking stage and I can't sing as high any more. I still sound pretty good though, I think, it is just in a lower range. The acne is light, and not really that bad, but my shoulders have some pretty rough spots, and I have a pimple on my collar bone that is about to drive me crazy. I have been good though, and haven't scratched or picked at them. As far as muscle goes, my legs are rocks. There is no fat left on my calves at all, and my thighs have much more definition. My arms are still lacking a little, but other than that, I have a lot more stamina and strength than before. My moods are by far the best change I have seen, though. I am completely zen about nearly everything. Despite all the stuff coming up, I feel like nothing is going to be that difficult.

I did have a question for some of the guys who have been on T: was it better to get weekly shots, or shots every other week? My doctor put me on every other week, but I have noticed that about 4 days before my next shot, I crash completely. I just have no energy at all. I talked to her, and she suggested that I do half of my dose every week instead to see if it helps. Any input?

I've stayed on a biweekly schedule, though sometimes I toy with the idea of a ten day shot cycle, mainly because of cramping (worse than when I had periods).  Most of my friends do weekly and they have good experience with it.

My doctor recommends the once weekly so you don't get the crash going on ... but I am sure every method has a reason or rationale behind it...I have been on T for 4 months --- I take my shots weekly ...and I don't experience any sense of crash

What I'm about to say is NOT RECOMMENDED!  Always, always consult your doctor about changes to your medication.

I occasionally switch to every ten days.  My acne gets really bad toward the end of my two weeks.  I also have little energy.  I definitely prefer the ten day schedule over the two weeks.  Haven't gone to once a week though because I'm lazy and already forget (sometimes up to 2 weeks later) to take my shot.

Good luck with all the changes in your life, Ayden.  This sounds like a really exciting time for you :)

I do my injections at 18 to 21 days - so three-weekly for me.  I have never crashed and my T levels are still high even just before my next shot.  So everyone is different.  Good luck in Japan - I am also transitioning in a foreign country, but lucky for me they speak English here.

aren't you on Nebido or something similar?   I think I remember you saying something to that effect.

I used to hit lows when I was on biweekly injections. Weekly has been good for me--no more troughing. You might talk to your doctor and give it a try.

Nebido was my second choice, but I'm on Primoteston Depot 250 mg at present :)

I have a shot every 3 months, and they're very stable. I haven't experienced any kind of crashing, and my levels are great. If you're worried about being able to get your hands on T, maybe ask your doctor for a longer term shot so that you have more time up your sleeve? :)
