To me it seems that someone bringing up political trans issues, or mentioning a trans movie is showing a genuine interest, is trying to relate. Why would a thing like that be a form of aggression? I don't see what kind of underlying hostllity is hidden in such remarks.

Actually I did originally say...

Some people call them micro aggressions, the assumption that since you are trans you want to know about other trans people. Dunno about them being aggressions, but they definitely are assumptions.

...so I certainly wasn't calling it an aggression either.

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts folks, I've chatted with my friend is all good and I'm going to pay her a visit at some point in the next couple of weeks.

Oh yep I knew that you weren't saying that (was micro-aggression), hope what I said didn't come across the wrong way. But even those who do say that I can understand why, but as I said I'm not personally comfortable with using that terminology.
