Binding advice please?

I know it's dangerous to double bind. Does that include wearing a sports bra underneath one's binder to help a little bit?

That's not bad, quite a few guys do that to prevent the harsh material from hurting your skin or to keep things in place better. Just don't wear one that is way too small.
