State Sen. Sheila James Kuehl, a Democrat from Santa Monica, who many years ago played "Zelda" in the television series, "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis," has said she is trying to prevent discrimination, but when Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a similar bill introduced by Kuehl in 2006, the governor said it offered "vague protection when current law already provides clear protection against discrimination in our schools based on sexual orientation."

The Campaign for Children and Families (CCF) said it hopes Schwarzenegger will be "consistent" and veto this new bill.

"[The bill] means good-bye to textbooks that say you're either a boy or a girl, that marriage is only for a man and a woman, and that the natural family is a father, a mother and their children," CCF President Randy Thomasson said in a press release.

Thomasson told Cybercast News Service that the measure "is an attack upon parent's hearts and children's minds."

Quote"Now the Democrats in the state legislature want to sexually indoctrinate children to believe they may be homosexuals, bisexuals or transsexuals," he charged.

These people truly frighten me.

Are they really THIS deluded?

Maybe if they stopped promoting the ignorant bigot lifestyle choice, and decided to join the Real World, we could ALL just, ya know, be happy?

The natural family is a father, a mother, their children, their brothers and sisters, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Not in the same house (unless you had one big house or were pretty poor), but near each other and interacting on a regular basis.  In other words, what we now call an extended family.  That's how it was for most of history.  Certainly that's how it was in the times of the Bible.  Do you hate God, Randy Thomasson?

"How it was in the 1950s, or some mythical vision of the 1950s anyway" is not "how it's supposed to be for all time."
