Best way to remove red hair?

Finally onto post #3
Well, it's time for my facial hair to go, and have been getting consultations. 
I was getting pretty excited about the benefits of laser versus electrolysis.
The only problem is, my hair is too red/sandy/light for laser to be an option.
I'm seeing an electrologist (is that the term?) next week because that seems to be the  only way to go.
Obviously I'd rather have results sooner than later.  Is there any laser that will work?
I'm sure somebody else has run into this problem.  I am going to have to do this somehow, just wondering if there are any other options?  What has everybody else done, and has anyone with a similar complexion (I don't think I can post pics yet) gotten really good results you're happy with?

You can ask at a place where they're laser experts if they have a laser that can do SOMETHING for you - there are a few types for different skin types - but I have little hope for you, sadly.

I believe electrolysis to be the only option for you. If you have money, you can go for, uh, super electrolysis or whatever they call it, such as Electrology 3000's services, where you pay a few thousands to have many technicians work on you with many machines for a few hours and be more or less done in a day. I think you come back once or twice to get the survivors, but I'm not sure.

I just Google'd E3000...

It's definitely a big cash outlay up front but seems to be worth it.

I'm trying to see if laser will get rid of the darker hairs mixed in (I think I have had some results so far but still not sure of overall effectiveness) before taking the next step.

I definitely can't afford E3000 right now but it might be my only option versus dragging the process out 5-10yrs which is NOT an option. 

I know it's kinda personal to ask, but I am curious if anyone similar to me has had results from a more mainstream method.  If not no worries, I think I've at least got some options to look at for the near future.

That's what I would think based on what my 'gist tells me now...

It looks like people spend around $10k USD on average...

Sadly, I think electrolysis and laser (and to some extent IPL, but that's really contested) are the only durable hair removal techniques... If you don't have much, maybe you could get away with plucking or something like this, but otherwise, I think you're stuck with electrolysis.

But you don't really have to go for Electrology 3000, either. You can just pick up whatever money you can and go for electrolysis for as many hours a week as you can afford. It's longer, but also more gradual, as in, you don't have to keep your full beard until you have the fortune that E3000 requires. And it doesn't have to take years, really. I guess it all comes down to how much time and money you can afford each week.

I'm not sure, however, which costs the most in total.

I have a friend who has bright blonde hair. She wanted to use laser hair removal to remove her hair underneath her chin, under her belly button, & other spots. She was able to get some kind of hair color that darkened her hair all the way down to the roots of her hair. She was able to permanently remove those hairs at a laser hair removal place. Well, she had to repeat coloring her hair so she could go get it laser treated during all the growth phase, but she finally got all the unwanted hair permanently removed. Obviously the best candidates for laser hair treatment are people with black or dark hair. I have purple hair, so obviously it would work for me.

You can try a medical laser place. They tend to have more experience and better high powered lasers. They are often set up for woman with polycystic ovarian problems and  have far more experience than the 'beauticians'.

But I think you will have a struggle with laser to get much done.
