Hi all!

So I'm pretty sure I'm not the only XY androgyne to have this problem. There are so many awesome shirts in the women's sections but no matter what there's always one big thing standing in the way of a perfect fit: the space for the boobs. Are there any tutorials out there on how to alter shirts so they fit well with a flat chest?

Is "deboobify" a word?!

I like it.

Hey, language is plastic, all words had to have been made up at some point  :D

Perhaps something from the teen/misses would fit.

Or encourage more personal boobification.

Unfortunately, because of my height, I typically can only wear larges in adult women's, and sometimes even plus size. I think it would probably be a pretty simple alteration, and if I experimented with my sewing machine, I would eventually be able to get something down. However, if there's something out there, I'd prefer not to reinvent the wheel.

Edit: Also, as far as boobage goes, I'm currently feeling more in the way of feminine decoration around a male form. Although it's not really my intent, I actually get gendered female far more often when I go boobless adrogynous than when I go full on fem.

You could look here http://www.patternschool.com/?page_id=698
As you planned to sew your self ,make a basic block for male and then female.
Should give you a sight on the differences. But afraid its easier to sew a new one the to try remodel one.

Not all of them have this. More dressy or business wear type of blouses often have what I call "boob pleats". But there's lots of shirts that don't have these. They might have tapering in the back, but I see a lot of mens shirts like that now too. There's certain brands that have a pretty good andro look. I'm really disappointed in women's clothes the last few years as so much of of it seems to be uber trendy, uber girly stuff. It's getting harder to find quality pieces.

you too? it's so annoying that i can't find anything i like at all in the women's sections now. it's easier to find andro clothes in the men's section, or even better, my little brother's wardrobe. i think his best pieces are all second-hand. i think i'll advice trying a second-hand shop for interesting clothes, rather than trying to find any suitable new women's clothes

I see SO much andro stuff in the men's section now, it's great! Slim fitting v-neck t's, more tailored button downs with great patterns, scarves, etc. The other thing I really don't like about the women's section now is that the fabric all seems so cheap. I can't tell you the last time I purchased a women's t-shirt. Besides that they're all miles too long or a weird shape. I do fine more quality pieces in the men's section.
