For me and I think most people, music plays a huge role in my emotional life. There's always a song I can name to really show what it was like to go through a particular emotional crisis, life stage, etc. This certainly holds true for my realizations about my androgynous gender identity.
When I was in high school, I was at a state debate tournament in a giant auditorium waiting for results with about 100 other debators. To keep us entertained, they put on the Disney classic "Mulan" and suddenly this song came on:

Something I had stuffed down into myself and prayed to G-d had died resurfaced. To this day, this song serves as a memento of exactly what I suffered through in middle/high school and most of college.
