So what do I tell the Doc?

So I've done some research. I know the health care system I use does give HRT. It seems based off of informed consent. That in mind, and desperately wanting HRT I decided to just talk to my Doctor (GP). While being really nervous, I've met her once. She's a nice lady, so I don't feel worried about discrimination. I'm more worried she'll not understand, or not know what to do. Less worried about not knowing what to do. I'm more worried about how I should phrase my concerns to make the situation less awkward, and let her know what I want (without being to assuming that they'll just give me hormones.)

Tell her what you would tell anyone else you came out to.  Be honest and let her know you want to transition and wanted to ask about the practice's HRT policies.

If you have to say something specific (a magic phrase) then it isn't really a good resource.

I doubt it is.. as it's a very liberal organization. Kaiser has been noted for it's transfriendly policies in California. I'm in Oregon, so it's probably a little different up here.  I haven't really come out before..I  was planning to come out to my mother after I talked to the Doctor. Before hormones obviously.

But I do like your advice. I don't want to work some speech up, because I know that wouldn't convey anything but bore her.
I still have like weeks, I'm sure I can think of a way to say it that isn't to abrupt and lets her know how serious I am.
