Generational Transgender

I'm curious if any of you are aware of any multi generational TG in families.  I know of two different families with multi generations.  One is a parent/child and both are post-op MtF.  Another is grandparent (CD), parent (MtF) and grandchild (FtM).  In none of these families did anyone know of the parent's gender dysphoria until they were adults and long after their own gender issues manifested. 

Could these just be aberations in statistics or could GID be an inherited condition?  Kind of makes you wonder.

I may be able to tell you in a few years. I have a relative who could be TG too. Interestingly, I have another relative in the GLBT community.

I think hormonal imbalances during fetal development can cause gender and sexual preference differences.

My sister told me about a decade ago she only likes girls.

My dad told me a couple of months ago my mom had a rare female genetic disorder that probably caused hormonal imbalances in her. 

I told my wife (per many suggestions from this site) a few weeks ago about myself.  A week after I told her she told me in bed before she went to sleep I was crazy but she loved me.

My guess is many of the gender and sexual preference issues are hidden in families.  It is probably linked to hormonal and/or genetic differences.  However gender dysphoria occurs in "maybe" 1% of the population and some hide it for a very long time.

Yes indeed.  My family.  3 cross generational instances I'm aware of.  I'm the one that actually underwent hrt to make livable changes.  Yes, both sides of my family represent gender and orientation diversity more than any family I've been in contact with, or know about!  But I'm happy.  I luv the way I was born.  mtf and lesbian.  ahhhhh!  What more could a girl want?

My dad was bisexual [was according to him], and one of my dad's cousins is gay. o_O But no TG stuffs going on...

I'm mtf tring my best to get on hrt, my moms brother is cd and my dads best friends have said he is gay but he won't agree to them and gets really made if anyone brings it up.

My mother told me that she suspected my real dad was transgender. She would find him with lipstick on his lips and she suggested but did not out right say that he liked dressing as well. It's something you just didn't talk about back then. So yes I can believe it's inherited. I never knew any of this until just recently when she brought it up during a conversation with me.

Yes. I can't say who, but yes, I suspect a close relative of mine has GID to some degree. My wife even suspected it. Just the way this person is about certain things... the signs are all there. In fact, both my wife and I kinda feared that my coming out to this person might set off their inner frustration, as they've never addressed (nor understood) the issue with themselves - and I doubt they ever will now.

Hi,

I am new to this site and have my first appointment with a gender clinic in two months time, can't wait.
Anyway I am married (not a mistake) and have a daughter and son. My son is 17 and I believe he too has issues as he is more like a girl and is now growing his hair long. He has not told anyone yet. I have my suspicions about my own father too. I am 48 and things like this were not really understood and its only know that I can put a name to what I am and feel (genda dysphoria) Time will tell and I hope my son if he has this will talk to me about it.
