To me, the song is about a person who was struggling to no longer be themselves. They didn't like who they were. Then the song progresses to them wanting to be themselves, but not knowing how. The mirror (themselves) tells them it's easy...and voila, you have a person who understands how they need to be themselves.
It's a song about realizing that you should be who you are. That it isn't worth it to hide what's inside. To me, it's an uplifting song.
