Anyone with experience with the GIG group in Baltimore?

Does anyone know anything about this group?

I'm in Central Maryland, looking for an in-person gender identity support group. Found a group that self-describes as "A support group for anyone who is transgender, gender queer, or anyone who varies from traditional gender expression". Meets every 2nd Saturday of the month 8PM.

I tried emailing the address offered. No response after a week. Ditto the associated yahoo group. I tried calling the organization that posted the announcement "The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center of Baltimore and Central Maryland (GLCCB)." No one answered the phone. The closest I could get was the voice mail of the "program director" whose voice mailbox was full and not accepting messages.

Does anyone here know if this group is still active? Does it meet at the GLCCB location? Any information would be appreciated.

In case this helps someone:

I decided to stop by. They've changed a bit. The group I found was for transitioning MtF's. It was very accepting. When I told them I was not transitioning, was non-binary, etc., they told me that everyone with gender issues was welcome. I recommend this group. I might go back, and I'm not even one of their targeted groups (though they're the only gender issues support group in town.) They are very, open, honest, and supportive.

They meet at the GLCCB, 241 west chase street Baltimore on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays at 8PM.

Thank you for following up and posting your results. I've heard mixed reviews of this group being very clickish and was avoiding it up until now. I'll actually check it out now!  :icon_bunch:

I'm very happy going there. I've been 3 times now and I haven't seen any evidence of cliquishness. They typically go out to eat afterward and everyone is invited.

I'd like to check this out as well.  I've been occasionally meeting with some local members of a Tri-Ess group.  While this particular chapter is very open and accepting.  The Tri-Ess organizational position is not something I can really support.

Sounds like this group could be a better fit "philosophically" :)
