Jody Herman

The Williams Institute is pleased to announce Jody L. Herman as Manager of Transgender Research at the Williams Institute. Over the last two years, Jody has supported a number of core research areas at the Institute.  In this new role, Jody will lead the Williams Institute's research related to gender identity.

Earlier this month Jody published a groundbreaking study, The Potential Impact of Voter Identification Laws on Transgender Voters, which was widely cited, including a piece in The Nation. Jody also recently published two articles related to gender identity and transgender discrimination in the Harvard Kennedy Schools' LGBTQ Policy Journal. As the head of the Williams Institute's small grants program, she recently supported a paper published by BIENESTAR that analyzes the experiences of transgender Latina women with law enforcement.
