Hello everyone. I am 1.5 years post op and I have noticed that over time my depth has gone down about an inch from when I was first post op. I am having increased bouts of anxiety that I cannot have sex one day normally because I am only 3.5/4 inches deep so I make sure to keep up dilations. Is this an irrational fear? I dont know what dilators everyone else uses but the ones I use are by Dr. Reed and they have the dots on them, and I can only make it to the first dot. Does anyone here have a vagina of my depth and is having sex normally? I am just curious thank you!

to be onhest , probably not with a well edowed guy , he couldnt get it all the way in , but with a smaller guy yes .

Just out of curiosity...was it an inverted penile SRS? Also, did you keep up with your dilation schedule?

Hm....Dr. Reed is the guy from Florida right? I've heard some horror stories about him (more bad than good sadly). If it creates anxiety (which it would for me too), you should contact other SRS surgeons and explain your situation. They may be able to help you and it may not be as expensive since they may look at it as "corrective surgery."

Be blessed tho. I have heard worse stories of those under Reed's work.

One of my friend's woke up outside in the hospital's courtyard in 98 degree temperatures versus a stabilization room under Reed and another girl I know...her vagina went through some serious reconstruction work after Reed finished her SRS.

I think sex should work fine --- so long you have some 'give' when bottoming out AND NO PAIN!

If your dilator gets to the end, do you feel a FIRM stop, as like in having reach a firm dead-end?
If so it be your peritoneal reflection, part of your pelvic bone.

If so, there is nomore depth to be had, unless you cut right into your abdominal (peritoneal) cavity. This is the case when you have colovaginoplasty.
With inversion, it is an option to do that, only with some surgeon.

Lastly, if you'd have regular sex it WILL get some deeper after a while - IF no pain is involved.

you have to remember though a gentic womans vagina gets deeper upon arousal and when the vagina does end its not just a ' dead end " it does keep going

I never really thought about that but yes it is a firm stop as if I cant go any further no matter how hard I push. I did have an inverted penile srs (NOT the colon technique) and I was so stumped because I felt like I had alot of tissue to work with, especially since I hadn't been circumcised. Post op I had 4.5 inches but now I have lost about an inch over the course of a year and a half (probably because I hadn't dilated as often as I should have) but I have been dilated regularly for the past months and I can't seem to get any further no matter how hard I try. Is it my fault for not being super religious about dilating? Or is it just my peritoneal reflection blocking the way? If that's the case, I won't feel so upset. Otherwise, I will keep dilating in hopes of getting additional depth. And I haven't even gone yet for my 2nd stage which I definitely am not doing with Dr. Reed. I absolutely hate how the outside of my vagina looks so I am hoping someone like Marci Bowers can give me a nice labiaplasty. Does anyone have any recommendations for a doctor that can finish me off for a good labiaplasty? And is my depth hopeless? I think if I really keep up dilating I can get the inch back but I just have to be religious about it, right?

dilation is super super important the first six months. It should be like a new religion when it comes to following your doctor's advice on how many times and how long each dilation takes place.

Unfortunately, your vagina could indeed become shallower if you do not follow your doctor's advice. I met a girl at Southern Comfort conference who had her vagina close up entirely. She has zero depth and she dialated twice a day for 20 minutes each time. So it can happen if you dont follow the routine

Also, there is a scrotal procedure that seems to becoming more common than penile inversion. They take the scortal skin and use that for the vaginal shaft. However, it sounds like yours was a dilation issue because you mentioned you actually lost depth.

Unfortunately, when you lose depth you cannot get it back unless you have corrective surgery done. Your vaginal canal had closed up a little...you can't reopen it because it is like a wound closing due to healing.

But the good news is, you can get it fixed. It requires surgery tho. Some SRS docs will do that.

Sorry to say that THIS is a misconception, I fell pray to as well some time back.

If you look at the anatomy you will see this bone part called "peritoneal refection" it is almost identical between male and female.
No such thing as simply getting past there "getting deeper and deeper" due to arousal. It is a dead-end.

Try sitting on the dilator and keep pushing down. Yes it will hurt some but you do get more power to push than just using your hands.. It seems when we use our hands we stop with any little bit of pain but when we sit on it we don't have the same control and our bodies weight pushes us down even past our pain threshold. I doubt we would push too hard unless it was just in the first month post op.. anyway thats what i did and well i still have great depth.. I kinda wish i could give it away to those heterosexual post ops since i am basically a celibate..

This sounds exactly like me.
It is possible to have sex with 3 to 4 inches of depth, I have done it myself, but the guy was less than average size and he still couldn't get in very far, and it hurt me. I've only ever done it once. I'm hoping it improves with regular sex though.

Firstly I'd try more frequent and vigorous dilation. Second option is to have a 'stretch' done by a surgeon. If these don't help enough then you're looking at colon-vaginoplasty.

I have a friend with a depth of 4 inches. She has sex with a lot of guys no problems. I think you will be ok.

I slept with this guy once and he was so big I could only get him in about 3 inches (he was crazy big, I doubt you will ever encounter such a big weapon).
He had a great time and so did I.  He does not need to go in far to be satisfied since a lot of the feeling is in the head, and there is a lot more to sex than just the intercourse bit.

It is quite a scary thing the first time, but a lot of guys are kind and considerate lovers and will just be so jazzed to be with a lady who is in to him.

I'm to scared of this. I have around the same depth 3.5-4 inches i stuck a 6.5 inch dildo in and i can get the head in and i can get half of it in and out motion. I have soooo much stress over this, i'm scared to date.


Dr. Reed IS HORRIBLE!! I WOULD AVOID HIM LIKE THE PLAGUE. Not to mention he almost killed me  if i would have listened to him and stayed in bed i'd still be bleeding when i stood up. I've been debating wether to sue or not.
