I'd like to say, I apologise if bemusement here may have affected anyone's sensitivities on this issue.
As a Briton, in common with most of my non-Daily Mail reading comrades, I have long since abandoned any ambition of expecting anything sensible to come from any government. Indeed most of us seem to prefer to take the money, rather than risk opening any boxes.
I would like to emphasise my deepest respect and compassion for those still hoping to discover a modicum of common sense for our illustrious leaders.
