Any tips for really hairy legs?

Well, unfortunately I had the "blessing" of developing natural pants on my legs during my puberty (No kidding, my legs are more hairy than those of some mature men that I know) And so, I've been in HRT for 7 months,  so I've noticed that this hair started to be less thick and strong, so I started shaving my thighs like 2 weeks ago; today during my shower I tried to shave my whole legs, I failed. 

I can't afford electrolysis or laser hair removal at the moment. So, are there any tips?

My cousin suggested burning it with a lighter and then just shaving my legs daily. Honestly, I wouldn't do that, lol!

Get an epilator, a case of liquor and maybe a piece of leather to bite down on. 


Or just shave a little further everyday until you get it all.  It might also be easier to do while taking a bath as your hair will soften a bit as you soak.  And usually, spiro will lessen it quite a bit over time.

If its thickness or long hairs you are battling with, honestly use a pair of electric clippers to remove the hair before hand. You can probably pick up a cheap one at the local store or borrow one.  Then use a razor, this saves wear tear on the razor and its easier on the skin. I also don't use the shower to shave if I have the time. I like the tub

4. Once Ambo's have taken cousin away, use the clippers, then shave as suggested by JenniL.
5.  Bring the story up at Christmas.  Every year your cousin is there.

Erm ... yeah ... burning it off might not be the best idea 

If its not too hairy, you could try waxing as a temporary solution, although as the ladies have mentioned, i'd take clippers to them first so its not too painful.

Also, soak in the bath first, as this relaxes and softens the skin.

EDIT - For being bullsh*t Finally, i've heard that its best if you shave from the ankles up, because hairs tend to grow downwards.

It's actually best to shave in the direction of the hair growth to minimise ingrown hairs ans sebacious cysts.

Yeah, That's what I did/do, I was surprised by how little it hurt based on what I heard. Nice soak really makes the difference for me between pain free and crying x3

LOL! That would be great, he isn't as hairy as I am, but I am sure he would set himself on fire.

Yeah, I've heard of shaving. It is not helpful when you are so hairy that the razors lose their edges or get stuck with hairs and wont keep shaving.

Mom helped me with the clippers ♥ Thank you! and as JustMeinoz said, when they are short shaving them in the direction of their growth is better, less painful and the razor wont die so quickly.

Yes, I'll start using mom's epilator now. She didn't want to lend it to me before, but she changed her mind today.

Just from my experience, start using the epilator the day after you shave. Since hair grows in cycles, you will be able to get a little at a time. This reduces the pain for me tremendously. Before I started shaving my body, I was so hairy I made Robin Williams look bald. Yuk!!

Wax em, after a few months of hormones you will notice that MOST of your hairs are not really growing back at all, looking at my leg I would saya HUGE chunk of hair just is not going back after almost 3 months.

I have VERY hairy legs (and arms). I shaved my legs over a month ago, and let 'em grow out. I noticed them grow back as brown, but then the bases turned blonde (the new growth). I read before that body hair turns blonde and often falls out and never grows back. Since then I have shaved my legs. Shaving works quite well to hide unwanted body hair

Give it time and you'll notice more changes in leg hair (hopefully)

Now they are under control, find the local salon and get waxed regularly. Only takes a 15-20 minutes. Then you can get the rest of the body done.

Scary thought, but I was quite a bit harrier that this before I started using my epilator.
