Canadian Press has reported that friends and relatives of some of the women competing in the Miss Universe Canada pageant are complaining that there is too much focus — by the media — on Jenna Talackova, and that her "sensational story has overshadowed worthy challengers."

Apparently, in an article on CP24.com, Canadian Press reports, "Organizers say interest in this year's race has been intense, drawing twice as many reporters as last year. A publicist said visiting outlets include TV crews from two Tokyo broadcasters, CNN and the U.S. entertainment show Inside Edition."

I can understand the concern of the friends and relatives. They're absolutely right — there is way too much focus on Jenna in this pageant because of her medical history. After all, nobody is focusing on the medical histories of other competitors — we don't know what obstacles they have overcome in their lives.
