XXY was fantastic, it's a Brazillian film about an intersex person. Doctors from... I can't remember where, come to their town and try to convince the parents to give the child "corrective surgery". Story is fantastic, but the kid goes through hell...

I liked Transamerica when I first saw it, though the story is kinda off the wall, and I was really disappointed to find out the main actress wasn't even trans. I'm seriously craving more media where transpeople are actually directly involved... Yar, I need to get myself back into film classes.

Ma Vie En Rose, Boy's Don't Cry and To Wong Foo. I remember loving To Wong Foo when I was little.

Has anyone seen the movie "Just one of the guys"?

1980's era flick high school flick starring Joyce Hyser as a girl who dresses as a boy to see what it's like. I think she did a great job and the movie struck me as insightful and realistic (except perhaps  the barechest shot of Hyser at the end...)

Near as I can tell, that was Hyser's only movie.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

yes, I remember it, she was wanting to be a reporter if I recall correctly. Not a bad movie as far as those types go, but it wasn't really about transgender either, just her wanting to write and that being her means of getting into the competition for working at a paper.
