Prenatal vitamins does help but what you need to take is Biotin, google it

Trust me, it helps your hair grow really fast, and nail too

I take prenatal vitamins with biotin together :)

Thank you for the tip. I'm going to try it and see what results I get. :)

My plan was to get it cut to a short one last time in the short, professional male haircut I had been using right before Christmas then let it grow all of 2012.  I actually got it cut more often back then  than I would like because my wig fit better like that, lol.  So when I got my cut before Thanksgiving the girl must have thought I was joining the military because she cut it Very short.  It was still fine at Christmas and that was the last male haircut I will ever get.

So this year it was growing out and I did not know what to do with it.  Spring got here and it was looking a little messy and I really wanted a trim partially to correct the unevenness of my last haircut which was not only too short but unven, bad job all around.  I know a lesbain stylist that owns her own salon and I had talked to her about cutting a wig but never had her do anything.  It was growing pretty long in the back compared to the sides.  I had decided to let it grow but in such a way that the back and side lengths even out eventually.  So I told her I was transitioning and growing out my hair and she trimmed an inch or so off the back, evened it out all over and just trimmed the edns on the sides and bangs.  She said to come back in about 10 weeks for another trim and right now the hair on the sides is almost ready to fully cover my ears.

I have told that the ends need trimming every 1-2 months in order for the hair to grow at its maximum rate and to look neater.  I also heard that hair grows on average 6" a year and figure losing 1-2" for trimming dead ends.  I have already gotten called miss once and mamm twice in my own hair with little or no makeup but I always wear female tennis shoes, tops and jeans. I don't know at what point I will feel comfortable using my hair in leu of a wig but hopefully it will be this year.  I am really hoping to get some good growth over the enxt 3 months because that is when I have to get my driver's licence renewed.  I am going to get it styled that day by my stylist and wear some nice hoop ear rings and a fem top and nice makeup and for once have a big smile on my licence.  Next year I plan to go back and do it again after my name change and then in a couple years get it done one more time with the gender marker changed to F.

One thing I have heard is that hair grows fastest in May.  Mine actually seems to be growing faster this month.  I don't know if its starting hormones or the hair, skin and nail vitamins I have been taking or time of year but one thing is for sure, hair never grows fast enough!

Hm~ Wear a hat when you're at home. A wool one that covers your whole head. It will flatten your hair well. I did that when mine was too short and just went "whoof" towards the sides.

It just may be that hair grows fastest in May.  I dug around google and several sites said that hair grows faster in the summer.  Must be true because I get about 3/4" of growth each month between April and the end of October...then it slows down considerably, like it stalls.
