I love the JWs they are so fun to mess with, to be honest the religious in geneanl are fun to mess with, when asked have you found god yet. I simply respond: Yes, he was hiding beyond my sofa.

I usually quite enjoy slamming the door on them (or Mormons which we also get), and the look on the lady's face last week when I answered the door with glittery eye makeup on made my day.  :)

I do have to make the observation though that a religious organisation handing out pamphlets pleading to "end the suffering" seems an awful lot like an arsonist selling fire extinguishers to me.

In my last employment, my immediate manager was a JW and he was under instructions to keep his religion out of the work place.   This didnt stop his general attitude towards me as a person and my refusal to enter any debate about life, sex, society and his distance from the rest of us when birthdays and Chistmas came around.

He suspected that I was 'different' in some way and he constantly tried to entrap me with his comments and suggestions and his general nasty attitude towards me.  He made life hard for me and when I had my stroke, he visited me in the hospital.  I could not speak and was paralysed yet he lauched into a sermon and left a copy of their special bible with me and the words that I need to read it urgently  ::)..

Heaven only knows what he meant or what his motive was but I was glad to be told soon after that my job had ended due to my expected long term recovery and I was soooooooo happy not to have to see that man ever again.  That was 6 years ago but I did see him in a store a few months back, and although I am living as a woman now in full transition, he recognised me .  Without a word, he scurried out of the store leaving his basket where he had stood as if his trousers were on fire  :)    Oh the joy of it

perfect example of one that needs to butt out, putting religeon and work together is never good unless you work in a church, and even then its iffy.

There are those that are redeeming, and understand that we dont wanna hear their crap, I love those kinds.

Hi Jennifer, maybe the devil set his boxers on fire, "Hee, hee, hee!" I love a good one every now and again, good for what ails you. I don't belong to any religion and not bothered by JW's But there was a time I loved them coming over to preach to me and I would end up preaching to them. After a time they gave up and stopped coming around, their heads probably still suffering from a cerebral cortex tail spin, maybe a little jet lag too. "Hee, hee, hee." I got me my own patchwork faith and I keep it to myself.

Hi  Rachel
Well, in its simplest form my patchwork beliefs consist mainly as I describe it below, in a nutshell.

I picked up my beliefs from researching and reading old scripts from archaeological artifacts, Egyptology, Greek, and the Sumarians nort to exclude tthe many other North and South American native legends. My, oh my, I was a book worm back then! I would read anything I could get my hands on when it came to metaphysics and quantum physics. Both of these cover or try to uncover and decipher that which is spiritual elements, or none physical that we can only guess at through the inference. All books of knowledge come to an end because they have a limit in their teachings and descriptions in attempting to measure infinity with finite measuring sticks. Now if one was to apply or use the mathematical equations of astro-physics E=mc2 and the ethereal grid like works of universe.

Yeh I remember where used to live, they often came by, I usually was annoyed but tried to be nice.  Like say, yeh ok,  uh huh, take the pamplet, and when they were gone throw it in the trash.  That was usualy when it was a nice old lady doing it.  But got this rude guy and opened door, he started his speach and I basically said not thanks, not interested and shut the door on him.

After moved here, didn;t have to much problems, then again I lived across from a catholic church for a while and the place at now they can't enter the appartment building without the staff upstairs allowing them to.  Did get stuff with living with one for a few months though.  That didn;t go well.
Every day we pass people, do we see them or the mask they wear?
If you live under a mask long enough, does it eventually break or wear down?  Does it become part you?  Maybe alone, they are truly themselves?  Or maybe they have forgotten or buried themselves so long, they forget they are not a mask?

Rachel,
Quoteperfect example of one that needs to butt out, putting religeon and work together is never good unless you work in a church, and even then its iffy.

I mentioned to my gender clinic psychiatrist the wonderful work that the hospital chaplain did on me when I was flat on my back following the 3rd stroke and fearing the worst of outcomes.  Totally paralysed below my neck, I could still manage to speak ( an odd situation because the 1st stoke wrecked my speech skills and voice tone ) and managed to relate how I had always felt I should be born a girl and that now ( the situation at that time ) it was too late to do anything about it.   He looked at me with great intensity for a moment and sqweezed my hand and said that I should try to have a good sleep and that all will be good when I awake.

Well now,  as expected, nothing felt any different when I awoke and I was feeling bitter and frustrated and puzzled by his words.  It was then that the JW ex co-worker/manager came to visit me and he started his speech about the evils and wrongdoings that I was being punished for by God/Jehova and I swear that my already high blood pressure went into hyper status and that steam could be seen eminating from my orifaces.

Anyway, soon after discharge from hospital, that chaplain came to see me at home just to check up on me and my 'spiritual' state of mind and at no time either in hospital or at home did he ever try to 'peddle' religion.  He never EVER once asked me if I was a Christian or if I had any faith at all.   He simoply offered me support and a measure of understanding of how I felt about myself as a person.   To condense my story since that time, I had that moment, the Eureka moment of clarity and that I needed to get off my butt and do something.

It is said that God works in mysterious ways..... :-\

There seems to be a situation developing here where I live in that there may be a turf war in progress between the JW's and the Mormons. Every Friday they troop around my locality knocking on doors, approaching people on the street and generally making themselves obvious at pinch points at the shopping mall and guess what?  I am gettting mighty tired of dodging these people and I have to ask this question of them all, WHY DO YOU NEED TO CONVERT EVERYONE IF THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE GOD? If it were true then it hardly matters does it?  ???

Hi Rachel hon, I have also studied some of the Qabalah. this again only a condensed version of Creation, the Creator's hand maiden  stood at his/her side and witnessed creation itself. The Creator's hand maiden fell in love with the Creator but the Creator wasn't able to be in one, single place in order to be with her, or all else in creation would cease to exist.  Instead the Creator  left her the gift to bring forth life to the universe as a temporary recompense till such a time they could join as one once more. This goddess-like entity became known as the Sacred Feminine.
