Ma'amed every day? at my job?

Does hair have that much an effect on passing? Everyday at my job I am being ma'amed from the side, or back by young guys, old women, and more. My job requires me to wear a hairnet now, so that could be a reason why, and I grew my hair longer (but not below my shoulders yet).

When face to face though, I don't get that, except once when a guy said, "Sir.. ma'amed".

I personally think hair plays a major role.

Not at all.

Well at least not a "major" role. For me that hasn't been true at all... I was passing with 2 inches of hair. I work in customer service with very high interaction count daily too.

Cis guys with long hair get mam'ed all the time from behind unless they are built like a truck that is OR their posture/demeanor is definitely male.

Major factors( physical predisposition aside):

- Posture
- Demeanor
- Facial expressions

and voice seals the deal.

At work the other day a transwoman came into my shop. The only reason that I knew was because of her facial hair even tho she'd shaved you could still see the hint of shadow :/ her voice was really good and she didn't look especially masculine in other regards either.
