I am going to get "some" ffs later on this year, I have the money, and now is the time for it. It's been something I been heavily thinking about.... but I am not going to transition as woman. I want my face to be androgynous-pretty, like you couldn't tell either way... but I decided if this makes me happy and nothing more does, then I will live like this, and not go all the way. It's a happy medium I think.

* nose job, eyebrow lift, forehead reshaping  are the main ones.

I also plan to get a radical masculine hairstyle as well, and drop a lot of weight.

and I don't want my family to think I am becoming a woman since I am not going to become a woman. But it's going to be so obvious, I change my face, so do you think I should just say "I had a nose job, but nothing more", or "car accident", or  something... I am trying to think of something to say.... that would be believable.

I just don't want them to accuse me of changing sexes, so any lie that diverts from that works.

The truth.

You're not happy with your appearance so you're taking steps to change the way you look, not your sex or gender, which will allow you to express your personality in a way which feels more comfortable. If you don't want them to think something then the easiest way is just to tell them straight that it's not a transition. The trouble with lying about stuff is you need a good memory to remember what you told to who, and when, so it doesn't come back to bite you in the ass.

Above all... remember: you are beautiful, you are valuable, and you have a shining spark of magnificence within you. Don't let anyone take that from you. Embrace who you are. <3

I agree with everything Sephirah says.

Having made this decision, you obviously accept that you are going to create confusion among friends and relatives, which is easily dealt with -- just tell them the truth that you want to change your appearance to look, in your opinion, more in keeping with the way you feel inside. However, your new look could also lead to confusion among the general public. Nothing wrong with that, so long as you are willing to deal with that on an almost daily basis.

You also describe your decision to look androgynous as a "happy medium". I'm not sure what you mean by that. If it is because you would like to transition m/f but feel this is an easier path, I fear you may need much more courage to deal with looking androgynous.

I hope I have not offended you in any way, as that was not my intention.

I think being honest with friends and family is my best suggestion to you, and I wish you well with your chosen path.

well i did not tell my dad till after my BA and it hurt his feelings. so for the FFS two months later i told him ahead of time. they would rather know most of the time because its such a big deal to you and its surgury.

Just tell them the truth that this just makes your feel more comfortable. You are not getting a butcher job done and as long as you are going to a reputable surgeon I could care less what you do with your money.

You're quite right, actually.

It is a possibility to remain living as a man post FFS.

It just makes you appear a bit younger and softer, maybe androgynous, depending on your current face.

A browlift ala dr Z would make you look weird though....

his results are too "extreme" for my tastes.
I like the results of Dr. Cardenas because they seem natural in my opinion...

lol, actually my face is already feminine except my nose and forehead. I could pass as a woman if it weren't for these factors, which is also in my opinion. A guy told me the other day when I smile (on the internet), that I had a face of a woman.

And skip any cheekimplants....they make GG's and TS faces look weird and out of proportion. Let alone a genetic male who remains living as a male.

I often wonder if this 'cheekimplant craze' is a remainder of the 70's when surgically altered faces didn't have to look natural?
