A retelling of the Lincoln legend.  In this film, the young Abraham becomes a vampire hunter to avenge the death of his birth mother.  He not only becomes the leading force against the "slaveocracy," but also, secretly, against  their allied interests, the "vampireocracy."

Having just read the novella, I can say the film departs from it significantly.  I would have rather seen the book made into a 10-hour miniseries, rather than a 2-hour feature film, as the book is rich with historical tie-ins.  Nevertheless, if one can suspend reality for a couple of hours, and enjoy seeing vampires getting their heads lopped off, then this is the film for you.

Three and one-half stars out of five.
