Packing without a harness or just putting it in briefs

I tried making a harness by taking a pair of boxer briefs, and cutting away all the material except for the waistband and the pocket with the flaps on it, and then I fold up the bottom upwards and sewed to that I could rest the packer in it.  I tried different methods of making harnesses as well, but I just don't like the extra band around my waist.
I found that it is more comfortable for me just to put it in my briefs.  But I'm not a big fan of the rubber material up against me, especially since it gets quite hot here, as well as worrying that it will fall out or something of that sort.
I havent' found a way that I like, or that feels natural. It's not helping with my dysphoria at all. What are some other methods of packing with a packer other than putting it in briefs or using a harness? Or at least ways that would feel somewhat better.
I just bought my first packer, well at first I bought a small mr. limpy and being the small guy that I am, it is just not realistic. So I bought a small packy from early2bed. I'm still very new to the whole concept of something being down there.

I know this sounds weird, but I'm not quite sure how to position it. Like up high or down lower.  I alway wear cargo shorts and when I zip or button them theres this hump, and it doesn't look like that on bi guys. I know the small ones tend to stick out more, like as in straight out, so it position it more to the side.  I think part of it also comes from never packing before, so it will take some time to get used to.

I buy underwear with a fly, then I put the packer in the pouch. For added security you could pin the side of the pouch (I don't and it hasn't fallen out *yet*

The other option is to buy double front underwear and cut a small slit just under the waistband if the inside layer, then you can insert the packer in there.

I didn't even think about that. Thank you!

If you have a bit of extra cash, I would recommend Pete's Packing Underwear.  It comes in four styles, depending on your underwear preference.  Personally, I like wearing the Commando with boxers.  They are made of comfortable material and have the option of wearing the packer against your skin or separated by a piece of fabric.  There is also a loop of elastic to go around the balls for extra security.  They are a bit pricy, but for me, it is worth it.

Like I said somewhere else, look up Tranzwear. They have underwear with a pouch in front and some other varieties. A little pricey though, so if you have a needle and thread or sewing machine handy, you could sew it yourself.

Underwear with a pouch works great. I haven't had mine fall out while using that method yet either, long as it's relatively form-fitting.

As for how low it should be, the penis is pretty much the equivalent of the clitoris, so that might help with positioning it in a way that feels natural? I know a lot of guys position it to the side, I feel comfortable with letting it hang straight down, either way is "normal" far as I can tell.

For years, I just wore BVD tighty whities with my packer or stp and no harness. That worked just fine. Then the last year or so, I wanted to try boxers and boxer briefs, but I didn't want a big harness or all that. I find the little $5 harness  I got from Stand To Urimate does nicely! It is so small you barely feel it. I really like that when I drop my drawers, my junk stays in place. Just a little piece of elastic, very smart.

TranZwear has a ton of sale going on, inlcuding having Econo priced boxer briefs where you can get 3 for less than $25....Better than trying to jury rig pairs you have and not being able to use them if you mess up.
