My gender therapist:

  • Told me "the proof is in the pudding".
  • Wrote my HRT letter and my carry letter.
  • Helped me celebrate the excellent pudding.
  • Got herself certified so she can write a DMV letter for me in my state.
  • Heard my first poetry in decades.
  • Celebrated my coming out victories.
  • Helped me through the frozen emotions that were no longer frozen.
  • Treated me for my PTSD and other stuff.
  • Let me save up my angst and pain and unload it once a week.
  • Is still there for me.
I was lucky to find a specialist in my other stuff who is also experienced with gender transitions.
History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.
