En route?

Hopefully. Checking the Skype messages, she said the taxi was there (7pm Saturday, my time PDT = +8hrs zulu)...and her plane would leave about midnight her time (about 15 hours later). So...that's only 33 hours. Given a couple layovers (one being 10 hours, iirc)...

I don't know...does 23 hours sound out of normal? I'm sure she's exhausted and will want to rest for a couple/3 days.

I'm just worried, that's all.

*biting fingernails*

I wish I could've been there. I could be a good attendant I think.

Eh, I'm just rambling.  :-\

It is natural to feel concerned, we are all holding tight and waiting in anticipation for the good news of her safe return

Going way back in my Skype logs, she did say it was a 20 hour flight back...

Oh. My. Gosh. I re-read the entire conversation (several days' worth) and she says she "won't be able to update until after Tuesday."

Jeez. *slaps forehead* Never mind, I was worrying for nothing.

Tuesday's tomorrow, but "after" = Wednesday.

Ok, now I can relax a little.   :-X

Dawn Heart

I literally just saw this thread and although I am not even into transition yet, Mandy...I'm so sorry for what you went through with your SRS!!! My heart broke for you as I read about your suffering! When I got to your mention of an infection in the urethra, I thought to myself "what the hell did they do that caused Mandy an infection"? Did they make sure that the O.R. and their hands were clean? Did they do anything to make sure the catheter was sterile BEFORE inserting it? What is the problem with their practice over there when it comes to hygiene?

Those nurses you had that kept yelling at you need to leave the medical profession in my opinion.

I'm in hopes that you are healing well and in much LESS pain than before!

Sending you support and hugs,

Dawn

An urethra inflection is very common when and after you have a catheter. Drugs usually clear it up quickly.

Back in good OL America!! wow the last three weeks of my life have been a whirlwind. I can honestly say without your support and love i would not have mentally/physically pulled through this. What was supposed to be the pincale event of my life but turned into a horror movie. But everything now seems to be ironing itself out thanks to all of you.  Still incredibly SORE 32hour airplane ride really didnt help the area at all. I had a checkup with my GP about 2 hours ago and she was very pleased with results and said that it looked very good. I have been dialting regulary and with little to no discomfort.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me from experience how long(average) it should take for swealing to go down enough where i can
not have to use the donut anylonger after a few hours on that donut it is really uncomforatable.

Juliemac i had the room right next to the bathroom also. Interesting Side note i think all the nurses are homeless because they all sleep
everywhere all over the clinic (couch in lobby,chair,floor,ect...)

One day i would like to have a Susans get together where i can give you ALL one big hug.

I didn't like the doughnut pillow and didn't use it after the first week. I found just a soft cushion to be more comfortable.

Hi Mandy,
Wow girl you finally made it home! I have been reading your thread for the last week or so and it feels great to see how you are doing a lot better lately. The great support from all the girls here is so amazing, Susans is such a great place!  :) I hope you will have a good recovery back at home. At least you will be able to recover at home much better than you would in the hotel. I'm sending you all my best wishes for your recovery!

Sweetie
PS on a side note: I was able to sit comfortably for many hours w/o donut cushion after around 4-5 weeks. Swelling went down quite fast (after 2-3 months every swelling was gone). But remember everyone is different. I hope dilation will be okay and if you need any instruction from my Suporn guidebook, I am happy to send it, but I figured you got detailed instructions already? Take care and keep us posted.

...........................that's a pretty ignorant thing to say.....it's a thai habit to take naps 'on the spot' when they get the chance...
Thais raise very, very early to go to work and sometimes work even 2 jobs.
That means  coming home very, very late to sleep for a short while to rise very, very early to go to work.
Often travelling quite a distance.

Mandy,

Welcome back to Susan's. We all wish you a speedy recovery:) I am super happy the things worked out well for you.
Let me answer your question about the swelling. I am not prone to swelling but my vagina looked very (read extremely) ugly the first month after the surgery. It takes months until it starts looking normal. I kind of distrusted my doctor when he was saying it was swelling, but he was totally right. He gave me a close to genetic vagina :)

It is normal to feel discomfort after the surgery for weeks, and I guess that is also normal. Make sure you clear that infection well because urinary infections can be very boring:)

What can I say, welcome back home and congratulations for becoming who you were ment to me A woman with a vagina. It looks like your dream has become reality now :) This is just the biginning of the new life for you and I really wish you a fortunate and a long one :)

Love you

Anna
