linkDubbed a "trans-fox rock star," and a "sex symbol laureate" of the trans rock music scene, by the press, Virago is far more than just a pretty face. The multi-talented singer songwriter is also an activist, writer, filmmaker and actress.
As a filmmaker, Virago gravitates to black and white shorts. Her three films include Hustle, the punk-rock Shut Up, Josephine! and Almost Human; the latter which weaves political satire through a compilation of still photographs. Now working on her fourth short, Virago says, "I've been lucky to have had my films screened throughout the world. My last [film] screened with porn bad-boy Bruce La Bruce, which was a thrill. I have a very DIY aesthetic and—just like my songwriting—I prioritize content above all else."
