Hi girls.

I just wanted to hear if its normal to experience rapid fat redistribution? I have read that it will take months before you see any changes.. But after 2,5 months my body has changed very fast. My behind is.... Well soon bigger than my wifes :P, and hers is not tiny. Also my breasts are growing fast. If I knew that I would not violate any rules on this board I would post pictures. My doctor said the last time that I could double the dose in August. Will changes be faster when we up the dose?

Also my face is alot thinner now than it was some 3 months ago. People actually asked me if I have stopped eating or what :P. My mother was very worried.. But I am eating like never before so thats not a problem for sure. But unfortunately my male face is still very much there and I really hope that it will improve over the coming year or so.. Because I would rather have a passable face over a passable body.

Anyone else here that had this rapid changes?. I am 29 so its not like I am very young. But my metabolism is pretty high and has always been. Can that be a cause?

And oh yeah. My right side is really showing progress with regards to hips,  the curve is definately showing now.. But not on the left :P. Is this really normal? I read about some others that had this problem.. How long did it stay that way? it looks kind of goofy now to be honest =/. The breasts however are growing evenly.

Sorry if this is alot of stupid questions but I needed to vent :).

Some people say that you burn off the male fat, and then put on fat in a female pattern, so if you happen to have a metabolism that has a high rate of fat turnover then you might be one of the lucky ones.  The rate of change is not completely linear with HRT dosage - as far as your endo is concerned, there's a target hormone range that they want to achieve, and it boils down to tweaking dosages till you get there.

Body development is rarely symmetrical, it'll mostly even out eventually - how many lopsided people do you really see out there?  We're never completely symmetrical - it's just a matter of whether everything reasonably matches.

I'm in a similar situation. It will be 3 months Friday for me. I have seen a a great deal of changes to my body. I now clearly have hips a bigger butt and my chest is becoming fuller.  I'm 40 years old so I don't think age has anything to do with it. I work out everyday, well mostly everyday. So I do keep fit. I think it has to do with genetics. Some people change a lot faster than others. I recently came out to a friend and she said that she has seen me losing weight over the last few months and thought that I might have cancer or something, so she was glad to her that I was alright. Just Trans! lol congrats! It feels nice. Enjoy...

I'm 27 will be 28 in November and I've had some pretty drastic changes in just a month. I have lost a lot of "mass" it feels like. I just recently put on a shirt that was pretty tight on me in January of this year and its very lose fitting now. So the bulk is diminishing. I haven't noticed much growth in my hip area. It seems like now if I jump up quickly things bounce where they are suppose to bounce. Chest and rear. haha.  I work out alot and have a healthy diet so in my head I think that maybe helping?

I'm happy for your changes girl! It's exciting! :)

Thanks for the responses so far :).

It is exciting indeed :D. I feel like a little girl :P.

And yes it is fun to jump because I feel that bounce too ;). Makes me pretty happy! But I have to say, the boobs do not like jumping ;).

It really is just "one of those things".  Everyone is different, and it sounds like you are one of the luckier ones.  >:(
Have you done any facial hair removal?  That seems to be one of the faster ways to remove masculinity from your appearance.  Eyebrow contouring can help a lot too.  My left side seems to have developed more than my right. I put that down to it being my dominant side and therefore used more, hence less fat deposited.

Lucky you!

Karen.

Might be lucky when it comes to the body.. But the face not so much =/.

I did 4 laser sessions the past winter but we stopped when the sun became too strong. I do not want hyperpigmentation in the face =/. Anyway my shadow was pretty much gone besides on my overlip and on the sides of my chin where the hair is very stubborn :(.

But now the dormant hairs came to life :(. It is not as bad as it was before I started laser but unfortunately I cant get rid of the shadow on my overlip or chin :(((, and it makes my face look lite sh*t =/. Cant wait until September when we will start laser again. I was not on HRT when I did the hair removal, might the results get better when on HRT? I somehow imagine that testosterone will try to repair the damage that the laser does to the hairs.. So without higher levels of T the effects will be better and last longer?

I pluck my eyebrows now and have done that for a couple of years (never liked bushy brows). However I will go to a proffessional in the autumn to get help with getting them done and maybe get some advices too :).

One thing that I have noticed is that the hair can make a very big difference, just a slight change will make me look either masculine or feminine.. So I think that I will go to a hairstylist at the same time as I will get my eyebrows done.

I thought that I would be able to live as a guy when on HRT for atleast 2 years or so.. But to be honest its already a struggle =/.

So this autumn/winter I will at least live part-time as a woman..

Thanks for the input :).

Don't sell yourself short.  You are just really getting started.

My body was fast to react to, my face took about 7-8 months before I started seeing fat in the face in an amount that was worth talking about.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

Certain things were fast here at first.  Then I had a low thyroid and since taking synthyroid med, things are changing, especially the weight loss.  Yes, I think that metabolism is one of the factors.  The thyroid does control metabolism.

OP: You know...you didn't have to stop your laser if you just stayed out of the sun. Of course, it's a choice you have to make. I've chosen to avoid the sun all summer in order to continue all of my laser treatments. For example, I walk around with an umbrella (well, parasol) all the time, and wear sun hats. That was more important to me than being in the sun a lot. But, or course, people have different preferences, and being in the sun may be a lot more important to you. The sunshine IS nice, after all. :)

Unfortunately my work makes it impossible to hide from the sun :(.

This may sound stupid or strange but I dont like to be in the sun.. I am in the best mood when its a bit foggy and the rain poors down, so the autumn is my summer so to speak :D.

There is no time to do laser either so I just have to cope =/. But I dont do it with joy!

It feels good to hear that others did not see facial changes until a few months in.. It gives me some hope :)

My face thinned out about 12 months into HRT. I got remarks from my wife ("have you lost weight?"), from my mom, and from the TSA people at the airport when they looked at my driver's license. Other people remark that i "look good" which i take to mean that they think that i've lost weight. The funny thing is that I still weigh pretty much the same as when the DL pic was taken.

I started HRT in early December and initially my breasts grew really quickly. They shot up and are still fairly large and nigh-unhideable! I've always been athletic so ive usually focussed on muscle loss rather than fat distribution, but my bum is much more womanly and "bootylicious" as they say  :P

My thighs are still massive though  :(

Its only now that i'm seeing noticeable changes in my face - a couple of days ago I looked in the mirror, flicked my fringe to the opposite side and was literally shocked at how feminine I looked! Lol ive had my hair the same way ever since  I've been on a high since and will probably upload a few pics in the coming weeks (which for me is a MAJOR step!)

Cool :). How big are your boobs now? I really hope that mine wont stop or slow down just yet :D, because they are really spurting. I cant hide them with just a t-shirt anymore now.

Nice to hear about your hair, it is those aha-moments that I want to get because then you actually see the changes :).  I hope that I will get the same experience when I cut and lengthen my hair in 2 months.

The last days where interesting for me. My T was pretty low when I started HRT and just a few days ago I had to take some tests to see where my body is at hormonally.. Well they could see that AA is not needed in my case because I produce female levels only. How can that be?  I only took spiro for like 2 months. The evil t-monsters was really easy to kill :P. Not that I am complaining though.

I haven't had any fittings yet, but I come from a family of women with large chests, and mines are at the size where if I go running and don't wear any support, they're liable to swing up and knock me senseless  :P I'll certainly need to go proper bra shopping sometime in the nea future.

I've always had short hair so considering that my hair reaches the nape of my neck it feels really strange! I'm going to get it styled and layered next week, although i'm a bit loathe to do so since it took me so long to grow! It hasn't seen scissors in over a year.

Thats awesome you have naturally-low levels of testosterone! I've seen your pictures and im sure you'll be stunning in a few more months on E!

Oh, and how is your wife doing? I hope she's coming well  :)
