Hi,

I'm Audrey.  a pre-op transgender woman from Nashville.  I began transition in May, was in therapy but have to find a new psychologist due to unforeseen circumstances.  I know a few transwomen locally, they may or may not be on here.

anyways, hello, glad to be here and look forward to good topics

Hi Audrey,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. Great you decided to call this place home. Good to see you've started off the right way with a therapist. They make your journey just that much easier, sometimes. Create more questions than answers sometimes

Wondering round you'll find a mountain of information, resources and friendships waiting for you. It's also a good idea to have a strong network of friends in real life that can support you as you travel this roller coaster ride. So if you can contact your local ladies, all well and good. I've something like 8 regular dinner/lunches a month which makes for good socialising.

Anyhow, I look forward to hearing more about you in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

well I spent 3 months trying to get to one, and now that I finally did, she's gone AWOL on me, and isn't returning phone calls or emails, and stood me up for the last appointment, and haven't heard from her since, so I'm back to the drawing board.

>:(

thanks for the welcome.  I'm pretty knowledgeable, but not a know it all.  been over on crossdressers.com and someone referred me over to this site, so I thought I'd check it out and see what's shaking.  After a lifetime struggle of denying being transgender, I was fiinally told by my depression counselor that I would need to see a gender identity therapist.  I was relieved to hear the words from someone else.  I struggled to come to terms with how to tell the parents and friends, and it drove me nuts for a bit, but I finally did.  At first the family was supportive, then a few months later, they flip flopped and resorted to biblical condemnation, so communication is minimal, usually limited to text or email, but the condemnation stuff has stopped thankfully.

friends are great, they are all supportive and still talking to me.  my lack of a love life sucks, but it's not like I've ever really had a consistent love life to begin with, so old news there lol.

i'm college locally, studying Communications, about to graduate in a year.  and I'm a photographer locally.  but since this board is completely public, I won't be sharing my pics of me or my work, because I'm not 100% out, even though I am in transition full time, there's just people I'd rather not have or find things, because those people will just try and use them against me.

Nothing unusual about this. Happens a lot unfortunately.

Great when it comes from someone else. Takes an enormous amount of pressure off your shoulders. The good news is, it only gets better from here.

Sorry to hear you parents have gone short on you. I thought parents who use the bible must be some sort of christians who understand the principle of unconditional love. Ah but, I can be wrong most of the time. We are in fact given our rightful place in that book should anyone want to heap more of their misdirected bias and ignorance at you. Matt 19:11-12 & Isa 56:3-5 clearly give us a place in the kingdom.

Good to have friends like that. Don't worry too much about the love life. That'll all come together in its own good time. You're got heaps of work in front of you yet to get through. Hope you decide to stay. It's an awesome family here.

Be safe, well and happy

I joined up back in July, but got busy and never posted.  so here i am again, refreshing this.

I was on another forum, crossdressers.com, but I've grown tired of the gimmicks and games.

so, I doubt I'll be over there very much except to pm friends and what not.
