For the last week or so I have started to listen to a lot of music again.

A little background, I have a degree in audio production, and while in college used the facilities to record a couple bands.  I love a good kick drum in a song.

As I age I have listened to more and more talk radio because, at first, all of the bands I used to listened to started to leave this world and then I grew to actually enjoy it.  It had been forever since I flipped over to the FM dial.

So I got the CD's of a few bands I used to like at a used store and played them through to see if I still enjoyed them.  In my mind every song I have listed to lately gets interpreted as some sort of transgendered metaphor.

One CD was one of those heavy metal bands that roars a lot more then sing, however, when the lead singer tries he is very good with melody.  I am also a sucker for a metal band who can actually carry a tune in a ballad (I wonder how transition will change my music tastes).

One song really caught my ear:  Snuff by Slipknot.  I was dark, yet soulful, and fit my mood that particular day when I first heard it.

I would encourage everyone to watch it.  It is a well crafted song with no roaring or screaming.  It picks up its pace a bit near the end, but nothing that should scare you away.

To say the least I was blown away by this video and its theme.  Very unexpected from such a band, but extremely happy that I came across it and could share it with you.

Here is the YouTube link:

Thanks for sharing that video. Watching it reminded me of a video for  "Tear You Apart" by She Wants Revenge. The first time I saw it, I thought, "YES! She's transgendered! 1 point for team T!"

Upon re-watching the video, I've come to realize it is more likely that she is an alien or something, although I suppose for some people being transgendered is about the same as being an alien.
