Hey folks, don't know if this is the best place to post this, but whatever. Sorry about the melodrama.

Awkward backstory: I'm a dude (FTM) living in Sweden, and I started seeing a "gender therapist" (doctor, actually) about 3 years ago when I was 17. Without going into much detail, it didn't work out. I did some blood tests at a local clinic, filled out a bunch of forms, and nothing ever came of it. Didn't even get the tests back. After a year or so I just stopped going and she stopped calling. Not sure who is responsible. Basically, this is stuff that happens to everybody, you have to be very firm with what you want or nothing is gonna happen, because nobody else gives a ->-bleeped-<-. I wasn't great at standing up for myself (too ashamed), but I was clear that all I wanted out of the sessions right now was to start hormone therapy, and she kept giving me dates, and then postponing them. The thing is, I've had serious social anxiety that's been building up since I was 6, and I can't function properly in situations like these. I know being trans is responsible for the SA, and I need to deal with that before I can start working on anything else. So, anyway, I emailed her a while back (about starting hormone therapy) and didn't get a reply. So I'm done with that.

To the point: Basically I need to find another therapist. I know there's a clinic in Linköping, which is fairly close to where I live, but if anyone here has any tips on places where it doesn't take too long to start with hormones, I'd really appreciate it (again, this might not be the best place to ask). I don't want to spend my entire twenties on this, I just want to get it done and move on.

Volvos, Malmsteens, and hockey etc)

I'm DYING of laughter right now... so funny... ;D

Maybe they ---> http://www.rfsl.se/ can offer you some help as to find any therapist that you can talk to that won't give up on you like that. Try to find local associations that you can call to and see if they can give you phone numbers or any other info.

Hope that helped,
E.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I gotta do some more research, talking to people in Sweden might be a good idea (don't think posting in the Volvo forums is gonna work, though, ahah :P ). I probably just needed some encouragement, it's nice to know you're not alone and all that. Cheers

It's gonna take a bit of effort depending on where you live, but don't give up, I'm sure you'll find someone somewhere nearby.

I don't know what the situation is in Sweden but here i Norway you have to be pretty pigheaded to get the ball rolling within a reasonable time. At least that's what it was like when I transitioned.

Maybe this might be a good place to start: http://www.transformering.se/

Lykke til. Hilsen Norge :)
"Of course!"
