Therapist suggests presenting as a woman for an outing and seeing how it feels. I put together a checklist and prioritized each item "Critical", "Important" and "Might help". (Yes, I did used to be an engineer and I am kind of treating this as an engineering project).
I'm planning to go informal. I've always dressed as a shorts and t-shirt guy, so I'll start out being a shorts and t-shirt kind of gal. Already wear only women's shorts (a long story) and any of my t-shirts will do.
Here's my list. Did I leave anything out? Anything should be a different priority? Any other ideas?
Critical:
* Wig (am 50 years old, too many bald spots to use my own hair)
* Make-up (Will probably skip eyeliner, eye shadow, mascara, but need something to cover up whisker shadow).
* Breasts (How? Small breasts probably won't do, since I'm pretty tall and I want them to be evident and not get lost in my t-shirt).
* Unisex or feminine shoes. (Might buy some white athletic shoes. Could wear them as a man without raising eyebrows.)
* Remove exposed body hair.
* Feminize eyebrows. (Tweezing?)
* Some way to avoid crotch-bulge.
Important:
* Dangly earrings (I hear you can clip something on that lets you wear dangling earrings. Noticeable earrings really give a female appearance).
* Fake fingernails (I'm not a fan of polish, but I love natural looking nails. Not claw length, just long enough to be unmistakably feminine.)
Might help:
* Some type of feminine jewelry. Ankle bracelet?
* Lady's handbag
* Sunglasses with feminine frames, if I'm going to be outside.
