Ms Bev

Well, as many of you already know, I still lead a double life *....grrrrr!*, Female 3 days off work, and all off hours, and male still (just barely) at work 4 days.

I had both ears pierced about 6 weeks ago, and it was no big deal at work, and seemed to go with the long hair, which now lays on my shoulders in nice waves.
Tonight, Marcy suggested I take out the original piercing earrings, which were 3mm stainless studs, and replace them with something nicer.  I ended up with a pair of hers.......gold, large in comparison, about 3/8 inch accross.  Each is kind of a 3-lobed, 3-dimensional knot, and they are definitely feminine, but not 'smack you in the face' feminine.  I plan on wearing these to work tomorrow.  I'm on thin ice ladies......my favorite.

Wish me luck in this 'test flight'.

Thanks, Karen Lyn.  Unlike me to be nervous, and once there, I'm sure I'll have a great time.

Hope my customers don't freak out at a 50-something, long-haired, earringed, rather busty, small 'man' selling to them.   :o

I don't think they'll mind. Will you mind if they refer to you as a 40-something, somewhat masculine woman. ;)

I think just to play things safe, I'll take along the old, boring, 3mm stainless starters, and if I feel I need to, at least I'll have them in my pocket.  Just have them as a security blanket........we'll see.  Then again, 6 weeks ago, I went in with earrings, period......no security blanket, just a smile.

Interesting......I don't know!  That would mean putting my actual lesbian cards on the table, now, wouldn't it?
Sigh.......
I want everything easy.

Ah but if it was easy, everyone would be doing it. Where would be the fun? Ok, I'm sarcastic. It's a bad habit. Spank me?  >:D

Bev,
Good luck!  If you are like me I find I attain my goals easier if I go without a safety net.  So I would leave the starter posts at home.  Just enjoy your new ones.  I really do wish you the best.

Peace,
Kristi

Well, I went to work with the new earrings, parked in the lot, looked in the mirror, and chickened out.  I don't believe it!  Anyway, I didn't put the starter posts back in, but instead put in a pair of gold studs that at least were more than twice the size of the steel starters.  I would never have guessed I would chicken out.  But, the earrings I was going to wear were definitely quite feminine.  Maybe I'll have to get used to taking smaller steps.

Bev, the only thing I can tell you is, like the Nike commercial says, "Just do it!"

LOL, I agree!

You KNOW you're gonna do it! Once a girl gets something like this into her head... it's just a matter of time ;)

If you were going from studs to 4" hoops or something, well... OK. It'd still be fine, but sure, someone might notice. Not necessarily CARE mind you, but notice.

But it sounds like those WOULD be the perfect "step up." Not TOO dramatic, but still... a fun change!

sounds like the earrings were celtic knots....  hey... I wore those for years in guy mode... they were cool  :)  Just think of it that way... specialy if your scottish or irish or welsh in lineage... for those starting steps think of it as embraceing your heritage rather than wearing uber femminen earrings  :)

Best of luck next time.

Well, Marcy and I went earring shopping today.  I wound up buying a nice pair of medium-sized white cultured pearl studs.  My God.....they look fantastic!  Feminine, very, but both of us like them so much on me, I'll wear them anywhere.  Work, church, anywhere. I also got a pair of 1/2" hoops, for work and general wear.  Too bad, my earlobes are too thick for hoops that small.  Rats!  I'll have to go to a larger size ;).  Marcy thinks she likes the hoops I bought, so she'll wear them, and I'll make the sacrifice and buy a larger size.  Any suggestions?

After shopping, we stopped at Ruby's for the salad bar and soup.
All in all, a nice day.

Happy Bev

BeverlyAnn, we're probably gonna have to get you on a heart monitor quick -  you seen the new off duty pass dress policy yet???

Now that I've picked myself up off the floor.  SAY WHAT??   :o :o  I saw the new pass dress code but that's the first I've heard of the earrings and long hair.  What the heck are Jerry and the guys smoking over there at Fort Widget?  Is that just for non-public contact or both?  BTW, I used to push the dress code in RS since I worked midnight shift most of the time.  Depending on the supervisor, I would wear earrings until it was time for the day shift to start coming in.  Plus I used to get comments about no hair on my arms and the fact that my nails were longer than most of the women in CSD.

************

Bev, if you wore the earrings that you originally picked out, I would be willing to bet that most people wouldn't even notice.
