Hi, I'm new hear and plan on starting my 3 month concealing sessions before I can start HTR. I'm currently 41 but I'm told I look to be in my early 30's. Currently 5'10' 168 pounds with a 32 waist and 37 chest. I was curious if there was anyway to get a rough idea of the outcome for HRT. I've looked at all the normal reading that's posted about fat redistribution and such. I know my bones of set and now the risk of HRT since I am a register nurse. I'm sure these questions have been asked a million times by now but this is a very beg leap for me right now and will be taking some time off from work to contemplate.
Thanks Kim
Hi Kim,
Welcome and do post in the introduction area so you can meet more people.
I'm not too sure what a concealing session is.
I'm FT and came out FT at work by basically slowly becoming more feminine in appearance and clothing and then just told everyone that I was TG and undergoing hormonal and eventually surgical SRS.
No one caused any problems, everyone has been very kind and very helpful. I also work in a hospital as a pathologist and with my profile and reputation, going stealth was not a possibility.
Individual affects of HRT are very variable. I know some girls who have been on HRT for many years with minimal breast changes and unwanted fat distribution to unwanted areas. Others have had rather spectacular effects in many areas. There doesn't seem to be a predictor that is useful. I have become more skin and appearance feminised in
my looks. I'm Tanner 4-5 and sort of holding there, so I'll probably go for BA after a while. My endocrinologist who is also an MtF swears by BA as a must for any woman with small boobs. She has taken her own advice!! But the general recommendation is to wait for about 2 yrs before a BA.
Depending where you are you may well find that transitioning has very little effect on your work place and on how you are treated by colleagues.
Hugs
Cindy
