I'm not all that good with introductions, but I guess I'll dive in and say hello.

I'm 27, and just recently came out as a transgender girl.

It's been something that I've thought about for well over a decade, as personally I resent a lot about what I am, and love so much about feminism and femininity that it makes me somewhat sick to be a man, and even look myself in the mirror.

The last year has been the biggest when it comes to asking myself if this is truly what I feel is right, and as of this week, I finally came out and told my friends online that this was how I am and who I want to be. I'm not ready for the rest of the world, and I'm not in the position right now where i can truly feel comfortable in my skin, but I think the last day or so has been a good way to start for me.

Anyway, you have a lovely community here, and I hope to be able to contribute if I can.

Hi  FSin,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

One of the major elements in everyones transition is admitting to oneself, who we really are. Congratulations for passing the first test with flying colours.

Your introduction has been fine. Shows you are a real person, with feelings and emotions. To help your journey along the straightest path available, I'd imagine the next thing you may consider is finding a gender therapist who can help you through the labyrinth of feelings and understandings, while pointing you towards useful and pertinent information for your region.

Although there is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in and start talking.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Welcome to our little family. Over 7797  strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

Glad you decided to join us, FSin.  I'm happy to have been your friend before you came out and I hope me introducing you to this merry band of marvelous miscreants will help you find out so much about transitioning and other nuances to help you with.  There are other things on this board, such as a place where you can try to find support groups locally and other interesting things.
