STOCKTON, CA –
The San Joaquin Pride center will host Stockton's first Pride Festival in recent history on Saturday, August 25th, 2012 at Oak Grove Regional Park. In Addition, there will be a pre-event celebration and art exhibition held on Friday, August 24th, 2012 at the
Mexican Heritage Center and Gallery from 6PM until 9PM.
On Friday evening, the Mexican Heritage Center's exhibition will celebrate the historic event with an evening of music, art and food.
"LGBT artists are invited to provide samples of their work via email for consideration. This exhibition is expected to show a lot of talent and emotion as we invite this proud community to exhibit up to 3 pieces each," said Executive Director Joel Reyna.
A $10 hanging fee, per selected piece will be assessed to exhibiting artists. Work Sample submission deadline is 8/17/12. Artists will be notified by 8/19/12.
