Hi,
My boyfriend (formerly my girlfriend) and I meet many years ago, before he realized that he is a trans-man....he is 45, and one morning he just decided that he's a man....there was no evaluations...doctor put him on T right away...
Second month of being on T, he started to be attracted to gay porn. We do talk about it, and he doesn't know why just now he is attracted to men. His sexual fantasies are all about penis. I love him with all my heart, and my love for him didn't change since his transition (actually become even more stronger).... but now I really don't know how to take that...is it possible that testosterone can affect one sexual preference?
Help.

Ps. English is not my maternal language - sorry for mistakes.

Hi. Welcome to Susans.

Hormones do not affect your sexual orientation, it is hard-wired at birth.
As your boyfriend is becoming more comfortable with his identity and body, he is also becoming more open about his sexuality. This is pretty common among any trans person.
T does give you a way higher sex drive, though.

Thanks Anon.
Is there a way of helping him (and of course me) to sort that out?

You could look in your area to see if there are any support groups for trans people. If there are, there are often groups with or separate groups for significant others. This might help you to talk to people who are going thru similar experiences. There is also a SOFFA group on Susan's which might help you. Laura's Playground runs some moderated chats so you might check that out, esp if there are no support groups.

As for the orientation-- there *are* people who switch orientation. It is hard to say if they actually switch or if what was goign on before was actually their real self.
