Finally filed for my name change!

So I'm 11 months on testosterone this week, and I FINALLY got enough money for my name change.

I went in today and they gave me a court date for tomorrow at 10 am. I'm excited, but also super nervous.

Is there anyway that they can deny me the name change legally? I will be going to social security, get my new id, inform all of the student loan companies, my school, etc about the name change. I'm not doing it for any illegal purposes... so really there's no way they can deny me right?

I live in TN... and people are pretty much incredibly biased about this sort of thing..

I am just incredibly nervous that I'll be denied, and have blown the only extra money I'll see for months...

Wow, a court date of the next day.  Your lucky.  Here (California) we have to publish it in the newspaper for 6 weeks first.

I know! I thought the exact same thing. The clerk asked when I wanted to do it, and I said as soon as possible thinking it would be at least a couple of weeks. BUT... the good news is my county also doesn't require us to post it in the newspaper, which costs even MORE money.

Just to update! I went in to the chancery court, was in there with about 60 other people... I was the LAST uncontested case(which took about an hour to go through them all), it took 20 seconds and I was granted my name change! XD I was so happy yesterday, and my friends were standing outside the Justice Center with Avenger balloons and "birthday" cards. haha... now to change everything T_T
