The world renowned Lady Chablis was the headlining feature at her home venue, Club One on Jefferson Street, on Aug. 11.

Excited that my roommate Alan Skolweck and I, along with WJCL's "single and gorgeous" news director Julie Eisenman, were going to get to gossip with Savannah's "Grand Empress," we arrive between shows to sit for a little chat with The Doll about her flamboyant life after "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."

Wickedly forthright about "being a Southern black transsexual with a big mouth," the Lady gleefully tells us, "I look good for being a double nickel (55 years old) and am proud to say that I have just finished a photo shoot for the ultra-exclusive Candy Magazine in Paris!"

And she does look fantastic!
