sourceTriangle Martial Arts Association, the LGBT Community Center, SF SAFE, and Community United Against Violence will host a self-defense seminar for members of the transgender community and their allies Saturday, May 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the center, 1800 Market Street in San Francisco. The event is free, although donations are requested. The event, coming a couple months after the murder of a transgender woman in San Francisco, is described as low-impact, and will focus on how to prepare yourself, what to do, and what not to do if you are confronted or assaulted.
