Personally I like that the characters have their own lives where when you switch which one you want to play as they could be in the middle of doing something.

I've been away for a while after having broadband fitted & getting back onto Xbox live with my friends but i'm back with the latest GTAV news/info.
Whilst GTAV is released on the 17th Sept you will not be able to play it online until the 1st Oct, Rockstar say this is becasue there is so much to get to grips with they wanted people to play single player before being thrown into online.

Rockstar say that anything you can do in single player you will be able to do online with your friends such as golf, tennis, watching TV, drinking etc...
Whilst online you can sit in your apartment & watch the police chase shows that will show your friends if they are in trouble with the law!!
There are around 700 online missions with about 500 being available at a time, these will be rotated to keep things fresh.
You can make your own races & deathmatches, in months to come Rockstar will unlock the ability for you to make & share your own missions (I kid you not!!)
If yu want a peacefull time online you can set yourself to passive mode so cannot shoot others or be shot.
When you do a co-op mission the person who sets up the mission decides how much each person gets from the takings.
You can hunt any of the 21 animals to be found around the map.
You can don scuba gear & search shipwrecks for sunken treasure.
You can customize vehicles & then insure them in case someone blows up your favourite car/bike.
You can hire a mechanic to keep your vehicles in good condition but he will not touch stolen vehicles!
You can trade on the stock market
Rockstar advise you to use banks & cash machines as if you have loads of money & get killed some of it will drop on the sidewalk for your killer/s to collect.
You can share cash & weapons apparently.
I've also heard a reference to 8 player missions.

The list goes on & on, this is only a tiny sample of what you can do online

Now are you as exited as me about GTAV coming out?

PRE ORDER . I haven't been more excited for a game since. Never actually? I never really kept up with game releases until now! The next generation of gaming has got me amped!

Ooh, just a little bit longer!

So what character is everyone going to main until online is unlocked?  Probably going to go with Franklin myself, but I guess we'll see how they all play.

I plan to jump character randomly to see what crazy stuff they are up to when i'm not looking

Just came back from midnight launch at Gamestop and got my copy- paid in full with store credit!  I would like to take a moment to honor the games I have traded in that made it possible to own this game.  Their sacrifices will be remembered.

*moment of silence*

I will probably wait play the game later on today in case I decide I want a refund.  We will see.

I got my copy 1am from Asda, I had to wait in line with at least 300 other people & have been playing it all night long.
I've died many times, the first time was when I tried to steal a plane from the airport, later I got killed by a mountain lion as I tried to hike up mount chilliad unarmed, later still I found the military base & thought i'd try to steal a tank but got blown up by a tank for my efforts, this game is amazing!!

300 other people? Wow!  It was probably 150-200 people combined at both of our Gamestops and at our Walmart.  I'm more eager to open the game and play it now.

Got my copy paid off copy this morning, came home passed out and then waited for the 20min process of installing and waiting for it to load, have been playing it for just under 2 hours now and only failed a mission once cause I accidentally drove into some water and damaged the car I boosted(1st Franklin mission). So far only complaint is how loose the turning in vehicle is, tricky to keep it straight but at least it doesn't spin out as easy as games of old.

To be fair it's WAYYY better than 4's was although not as good as San Andreas' at the tradeoff of your car seem a good bit more visually durable (doors and hood/bonnet) don't pop off if you look at them funny. Just don't damage them because the esploding point seems to be a bit more subdue than earlier games.

Oh yes definitely better than GTA IV and GTA III.

It's hard for me to get too excited about the brand new games because they're out of my price range of what I'm willing to pay for a video game. I can't really think about them very seriously until they've been out long enough to get discounted.

Jayne

If anyone wants cheat codes for GTAV then go to computer and videogames website (type C&VG into your search engine).

I can't wait for the online mode to unlock as i've looked at the back of the box & saw this: Co-op 2-16.
Me & my friends have moaned for years that games limit you to 4 player co-op, now we'll be able to ALL play co-op together like one big happy family (until someone crashes the getaway bus, lol)

Been loving it so far, so much better than the mess that was GTA IV (hated the realism in that game, and the driving physics were no fun whatsoever!)

It's been massive fun overall, though I really did not like the "By the book" mission, made me want to put the controller down and stop playing for a bit :(
