Transgender Man Charged with Strangling Girlfriend


Police say Kayeden Robert Oliver, who is in transition from female to male, strangled his girlfriend after an argument over a barking dog.

A transgender Burnsville man has been charged with strangling his girlfriend, then dragging her through their house and calling her names while the victim's daughter was present.

Kayeden Robert Oliver, 31, formerly known as Veronica Kay Oliver, is charged with domestic assault by strangulation, a felony with a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $5,000 fine. He is also charged with two gross misdemeanor counts of domestic assault, each of which carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $3,000 fine.
