hi guys i'm a little conserned. see it's been about a week and 5 days since my first t shot and i just noticed that around the site of my injection(in the butt) i can feel like a semi hard bump like a massive mosquito bite, it was it is slightly itchy, but the size makes me think it's not a bug bite, did anyone else get something like this?

It could be caused by several things:

If it is hot, red, and painful to the touch, or if you are running a fever, it could be an injection site infection.  Go see your doctor or an urgent care facility immediately.

Or, if you injected a thick form of T, you may have done it too quickly, or with too thick a gauge needle, and it "puddled."  Try gently massaging it, applying a little pressure.

It is possible you hit a small blood vessel.

It is possible you have a little inflammation and trauma from the injection.

You did not say if you are using oil- or water- based T.

it was injected by a nurse, so i don't know,if it's oil based or what. it doesn't hurt, and it's only a little warm and slightly red from me scratching although i am trying not to

i just think it's weird that this has shown up after a week,

I would assume it's oil-based. When I dosed every two weeks and had a nurse do it I encountered problems like that more than I do with once weekly and self-injecting. I don't know if it was the larger volume of the dose or if it was just that they aren't me and can't feel where in the muscle it's going.

You want to make sure it gets in deep enough and you massage the leg and you move around, continuing to use the part of the body in question. If you have insurance it might be safest or at least reassuring to go back to see the nurse and show them.

i'm in australia and am on a 6 week dose, so maybe it could be from the larger dose, i'll keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or changes i'll go back

When i switched to a bigger dose i noticed that after a couple of days i had a pea shaped ball at the injection site that lasted for just over a week. i havent had the second injection on this regime yet so dont know if it'll happen again

This is much larger than a pea more like a small plum

Not my domain here actually but please allow me to inject my two bits worth as I really don't think we are all that different in many ways. I shed my gonads several years ago, but since I'm married and my sweetie still likes a traditional romp on occasions I get bio-identical T-pellet injections at a Naturopathic doctor's office about every six months on one side or the other of my butt, otherwise my libido tanks completely. Every time I do that I get that same reaction that you are having. Slightly warmish, hard itchy lump and this is long after the injection site has healed. Last time one of the pellets actually worked it's way to the surface and came out. I get six about the size of a grain of rice. Best I can figure is that the T is in conflict with the E in my system which is causing the rejection. The stuff works great otherwise and if I was FTM it would be my method of choice for post-op maintenance.

I know you said it was an infection but just to let you know I get a lump every single time I have my injection. It doesnt itch though just hurts. I am on  high dose and the T I have is very thick, if you find you keep getting a lump then rub the area as soon as you can after an injection. Do it for a few minutes and it will stop the lump forming.

I'd also like to add that it might be prudent to use an alcohol wipe over your fingers as you rub the lump. I am very nervous about infections, so my routine is to wipe the bottle with an alcohol wipe, then use an 18 or 20 gauge to draw from the bottle, then switch to a 23 gauge needle, wipe the area I am about to inject with alcohol, let dry a few seconds, inject, and then use another alcohol wipe to rub down the testosterone lump. It may be a little over the top, but I have never had an infection in the over 7 years I have been self injecting. I usually go to one of those needle exchange programs we have in our city and they are more than happy to provide me with any and all syringes and gauges I need. They also load me up with boxes of alcohol wipes and a sharps container which they take, once full, and give me a new one. I love my city.

PS: I am really glad you went to see a doctor to get some antibiotics. Those kind of things can be really dangerous if left untreated. I had a tiny scratch once in my tailbone area and I went to a bathhouse party about ten years ago (it was a women's bathhouse and I was still living, sort of, as female....regardless, this bathhouse allows trans men to come **haha, double entendre** for those who still feel a deep connection to the queer women's community).......Anyway, I went into the hot tub, naked......where about a dozen or so others were, and many more had been for hours before. The next day, I developed what looked like a huge and very painful zit on my tailbone, where the scratch had been.
A few days later, it was getting bigger and I was feeling sicker. I was bone dead tired and feeling very woozy and a bit nauseous.  I ended up passing out. I went to the emergency room and the doctor told me that bump on my tailbone was poisoning my blood and that if I hadn't of come in.....if I had waited any longer, I might of ended up in another part of the hospital.....a very dark and cold part, known as the morgue. Needless to say, I was extremely shocked. He put me on a course of strong antibiotics and within a few days, I was feeling *almost* normal.

I will never again let an infection fester (although I didn't know at the time it was an infection), but I certainly won't let what I think is a big pimple, that hurts like hell, go untreated again. So, I am very glad for you that you went to see the doctor. It may not have ended up as severe as my case, but one never knows. I sure hadn't a clue. :o
