Stupid Movie; SPOILER ALERT; Brave (Disney/Pixar movie)

Hmm... Things picked up the pace around here. 

Metroland, I can understand, I think, what you are going through. I easily can get tied up in a character.
There are times that it is spooky, the parallels that they go through that are so much like my self.
I hate it when they suddenly go off track, so to speak.
Eh, maybe the same but different.
I still need to watch the movie, especially now.

Everything can't just go hunky-dory in a movie. There has to be a conflict to resolve. The mother didn't accept her daughter's individuality which included crossing the gender barrier. They had to go on a journey together to grow and learn something about each other so they could heal their relationship. That's just my take from your description. I haven't seen it.

Pixar think special effects at high speed will cover up a rubbish storyline?

I think they lost their way if they think that (perhaps only for this movie-- as I don't know what they have recently done). I haven't seen this but many of at least the earlier movies were strong on good stories. (Not always terribly consequential ones.)

I've seen it and it was decent. The only beef I had with it, was it was a tad cliche in some parts.

Pixar has yet to lose money on a movie - and in Hollywood, that's beyond awesome.

Well, admittedly Cliches do sell, and Pixar is still a business, so I think they had to you know, not cause a stir by inserting things that some people consider as controversial.

It's not that, movies love controversy (no such thing as bad press), but movies aimed at that target audience tend not to do well with controversial plots, and Pixar is not in it for the art, or the statement, but the money.  And that's a money losing idea.

I mentioned this movie a while back however a new article came out confirming the doubt that I have about the movie.

I felt that the heroine was portrayed as having a mind of her on early on in the movie then all of a sudden the mother takes over her daughters life and the heroine becomes a regular Disney princess with no character.
