He has already begun taking hormones and is living like a woman. As his mother, I am having an extremely hard time accepting this.
"He said he has always known, but just kept it to himself. I feel like I would have noticed over the years. I am worried maybe he is suffering from a psychosis or has become delusional. I know he experimented with LSD and other hallucinogenics while at college. What can I do? He won't listen to anything I try to suggest."
The fact that you are writing in to a trans-oriented site tells me that you have already started to process this, and that, on some level, you are aware that this is a very real thing – not a delusion or a psychotic break. You are starting to do some research and look for some answers. This is a good thing.
