I will be starting hormones in about 23 days i was just wanting to know what i can expect i am 23 years almost 24  i know everyone reacts differently due to age family history health an how your body reacts to meds but what has been some of you're experiences an what can i expect?

Catherine Sarah

Hi Arianna,

Congratulations on moving forward.

First thing you may experience is an overall calming effect. As time goes on you may feel a pins & needle type pain in your breasts. This is them starting to grow. Depending on the HRT regime you are put on, your toileting habits may change to be more frequent, and perhaps with a slight urgency associated with it.

Your thinking may change and you may see things in a different perspective to the way you are currently used to. You may find your eating habits and preferences may change. Your skin may start to feel smoother. Usually takes a few months for fat redistribution to take place

That list is not exhaustive and you may find other things like you sense of smell becoming more acute, or your hand eye coordination becoming faster.

This will be the time to just observe, enjoy and celebrate whatever happens for you. It's yours and quite unique.

Be safe, well and happy

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Thank you Catherine Sarah =)

I have thin facial hair as it is will HRT effect it an make it easier for laser?

Catherine Sarah

Hi Arianna,

From my understanding, providing you have the right skin type and dark hair colour, you should find laser will work with removing unwanted facial hair. At the end of the day, it can be determined by the practitioner who is carrying out the procedure and your overall skin/hair type.

I myself have gone down the electrolysis road, simply because of hair colour. It's like a lobotomy in slow motion.

Let us know how HRT effects you. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
